JAN13  This software is running on OS 10.5.4 now, where I do use SCSI connection on my G5 PowerMac.

Performance is light quick and this software is capable of producing stunning scans from my 4x5 and 8x10 transparencies.

Scanning flat art is exceptional as well ! Options in this software are leveling with most demanding requests from operator for production of high-end professional results.

We are absolutely delighted using this software on our LinoScan 2650.

Very good job LinoScan !!!

PLASTERPYRUS  Well six months later and its still misleading, though it has gone down price, to the tune of 178.00 dollars. I think to boot, the price, it depends on what kind of scanner you have, the price is determined. VueScan is still the one to go with. And guess what it works with all kinds of scanners.

PDXDUDE  It's a little misleading to list "$59" as the price. The Ai Studio is $233 for my plain epson scanner. I like the autocrop, but $233 seems a little steep. Am I missing something?

FIRE_DRAGON  I have been impressed with SilverFast ever since I started using it. I have been using it for scanning as well as photography.

What I find most useful is the multi exposure feature. I can really pull some extra information out of my images and give it an extra polish.

The only thing that still can need some work is the interface, which is well designed but has some settings a little hidden away.

Alltogether a great updgrade.

MAKARDEL  I’m still using SilverFast for about twelve years and never regret.

SilverFast (including SF Ai Studio) is the first choice scan app with ease of use (first class automatics – if you are a novice) in an absolute professional app, that gives you incredible pro tools to scan and work on pictures for best results on the market.

SilverFast Ai Studio sets a new standard in prepress. I’ll never miss it at work.

CHANDIVINE  The AiStudio is great!

The price depends on if the scanner model supports the new MultiExposure feature - if it does, an additional fee is applied. Its well worth it in my opinion!

Great software! Thanks!

ANTH  The price listed of $59.00 is completely wrong. Lasersoft's website lists the cost as $208. It's not even the upgrade price which I have been trying to determine. Several days ago their web store quoted $70 and now it quotes $105. Their upgrade web page lists yet more prices.

While I have successfully used Silverfast to scan negatives and it does have some good features (HiRePP is great). I personally don't believe the new features warrant such a high price. Auto Frame Detection does not work with the scanning of negatives, Multiple Exposure does not benefit scans of negatives, only two new negafix profiles were added, and the AI-HDR optimization seems more like a bugfix. The colorcast removal feature added to negafix is nice, but it is only a checkbox and its intensity cannot be adjusted.
