GUNTIS  I can't understand what this app does...

I select file in Finder, press Command+C and it appears in the iXiu, I select anotehr file in the Finder, again press Command+C, but now this file is not added anymore. Just one file. I can drag and drop files onto iXiu page, but I cannot drag them out of that page into another folder. What copy/paste are we talking about?... All I can do is drag that file icon arround the iXiu page and right-click > Cut to remove it. Even choosing Copy doesn't copy that ifle into Clipboard to paste it in another folder...

I am confused about the purpose of this application. Drawing on this page where file icons are dropped - what this is for? Why should I do this?...

JAAP CAMMERAAT  One thing is drag and drop an icon from the finder to a page.

The most important task of this App is clipboard extension. Go to eg. Photoshop and copy some of your work. Go to a iXiu page and you can paste your Photoshop work on it. Pasting is done with the contextual menu (control-mouseclick or right-mouseclick). By the time you need some of your pasted work you can copy/paste from an iXiu page to Photoshop.

And besides of this important function... you can use it for your favorite bookmarks!Did you check the builtin helpcards?

GUNTIS  Yes, I can get something on iXiu page, but I cannot get anything out of it! :-( Except for removing item from the page by Cut command. I cannot drag anything out of that page into some document or Finder's window.

GUNTIS  As I imagine this app could store all items I copy by Command+C onto its page and then I could select items there and drag them out to some window or document. This way iXiu could become very useful file manager - I move folder into iXiu page and then move it out to some other folder. (simple move - copy, Option or Shift+move - real file move). Or something like this. This is what OS X doesn't offer (except for spring-folders, which isn't my favorite file management method).

BUt why do you include those drawing tools> What they are for there? To draw a line arround some file in iXiu page? I'm still confused... :-)

JAAP CAMMERAAT  I'm not confused :)

I'm working with a lot of Apps and was searching for a good multi purpose clipboard.

Everything I can Copy, I can Paste it on an iXiu page for later use, or... (thats secret at this time).

Drawing is one of the things I need to connect things visible for me when using it with a beamer. (remember: drawing is very basic at this moment).

iXiu isn't meant to exclude the Finder.

***..

ADINB  This is a great start, this app can be highly useful (and clean up my desktop).

It seems to be pretty stable, though there are usability bugs (moves the pasteboard sometimes when trying to draw lines), some general usability issues (needs a slight delay before sliding open or sliding closed), and no documentation.

But overall, its a nice little app to use as a mini storage area for working with a bunch of documents, snippets and websites -- think of it as a visual temp storage area.

JAAP CAMMERAAT  1. Quit iXiu

2. Locate and delete

~/Library/Application Support/iXiu folder

3. Start iXiu again

ADINB  the problem is he subtlety of the initial tab--since its transparent and I didn't know what to look for, I missed it for a while (especially since I use earthdesk so the tab shows up over the white of the polls)

A dialog/intro screen introducing the user to the app is *highly* recommended/needed.

ADINB  look for a semi-transparent tab on the right-top of your screen. it should pull down when you cursor over it.

*....

ANDREW WEBB  This is a nice idea (although it would be better as a widget) but the software doesn't do anything at all, nothing, not a sausage, zip, zero, nout. All it has is an about screen which is nice in an understated kind of way!. The File menu is empty and all the other menus are greyed out. I know it is alpha but shouldn't it do something at least??? At least it doesn't crash. Hmmmmmm.
