RUMPLESTILTSKIN Without this codec, AC3 audio isn't playable in apps that rely upon QT. (Of course, VLC doesn't have an issue but that's because VLC is self-contained and has all of the requisite components and codecs built-in.) This codec plus Perian plus Flip4Mac's free component let virtually everything play in your QT apps. Thank you! (Version 1.7.6)

GBOOKER This is entirely Apple's fault, and only they can fix it. Demand it of them: http://bugreporter.apple.com (Version 1.7.6)

GSNXN Does A52Codec 1.7.6 conflict with Perian 1.0 (which, I believe, includes A52Codec 1.7.2)? (Version 1.7.6)

NGLESTER Hi all, i am having problem with my AC3 videos on the Quicktime player. After i installed the "A52Codec 1.7.2", all of my AC3 videos get a white "blinking" bar on the right handside of the QT player while playing the video. I tried the same video same add-on on the G5 ppc, but everything runs smooth and fine. Any of you guys know i can get rid of this problem? Please help, thanks a lot (Version 1.7.2)

NGLESTER No need for further help, i got it solved. That blinking line was cause by Divx 6.6 + A52Codec. Apparently these 2 won't go well together. I had to trashed the whole divX 6. Installed the Perian 0.5, works perfectly fine now. (Version 1.7.2)

FOLLEREC This, together with Perian, NicePlayer, and MPlayer OSX, completes my video playing requirements for probably any type of video (or at least those that I do play). (Version 1.7.2)

CHUAN Finally AC3 encoded Movie file can be played smoothly in Quicktime Universal Binary! A big THANKS to 'Graham Booker', the developer who apparently fulfilled my expectation unexpectably well :P (Version 1.7.2)

EN_RG_E Mac NOOB here. After downloading and double clicking, the A52Codec just opens it in Excel. What program do I need to decode/install this codec? Or what am I simply doing wrong? (Version 1.7.2)

BEEBARBX Rename A52Codec to A52Codec.dmg and double-click. It should mount on the desktop. (Version 1.7.2)

ZETSURIN Excellent. The intel mac community has been in dire need of an AC3 codec (there have been a couple of random unsupported builds floating around, but they are pretty flaky). (Version 1.7)

SHANNONRAWLS I agree, with this plugin, Quicktime still will not play AC3 encoded VOB or MPG files. I authored a DVD on a PC using Sony Architect with AC3 audio. I ripped it with MacTheRipper, and it will not play audio with Quicktime. I am looking for a solution. (Version 1.6)

GBOOKER Giving you the same response: One user reported ( http://trac.cod3r.com/a52codec/ticket/6 ) that this worked, but I have been unable to reproduce his results. Two things lead me to believe that this is the fault of the vob file importer and not the codec. 1) If you open a .mov or a .avi file without the component, then QuickTime Player shows a dialog box telling you that you are missing components. No such dialog with .vob files 2) Even if QuickTime Player is unable to find a codec, it still will shows the audio bars on the right if an audio track is present. No such bars. I believe that Apple's vob file importer is not doing its job correctly. If this is the case, then the fault lies with them, not with the codec. P.S. You would receive faster response if you post to the ticket tracking system than if you post here. (Version 1.6)

BRICH Does not work for me. After installation as instructed, Quicktime still cannot play the sound when viewing a .VOB file. (Version 1.6)
