ANONYMOUS  Freeware?

What about that $20 I spent to put PixelToy on my first graphite iMac ten years ago?

Good times. :-)

SMACTRON  This is great! I wish it would be updated, though. At least just make it a Universal Binary!

MOUSEPOWER  I agree with everyone that this is a stable application and tons of fun. My only complaint is the user interface. The UI turns what should be a fun task into something quite frustrating. A week or so developing a better naming system (such as "sets") and tweeking the UI to make it easier to use would be time well spent.

DIMITRI DELCOURT  I have been using Pixel toy for years now. I have been on stage more than 60 times with this piece of software, it never crashed me down in critical live circumstances.

The different genrators combined with my own collection of geek-edited filters and palettes allow me to work along with musicians for hours... In an environment of different hardware filters and lots of wire, this "pixel toy", which is not a toy to me but a real tool, has been a reliable visual generator since the first time i tried it.

I love you pixeltoy! But how impossible is your user interface! All the stuff is there, but preferences and options are a mixed-up concept. I use to edit many settings in real-time, and I despise the lack of asynchronous ability...

I wrote a note to McNeil two years ago, as i was coming home from my first real time performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival, but none of my suggestions were implemented. I think that Leon McNeil has no idea of his own genius.

This soft is dope! Buy it 20 times it is worth it!

[And Leon! if you get in contact with me, I promise to send you a demo of your child in montreux.]

SU  Loved Pixel toy for many many years on my old Macs. Then my job suddenly became more stressful and I lost track of Pixel Toy (v 1.1). Until today. Found it again on an old floppy, and it worked perfectly on our old old Macs and our new Macs. No installation, no crashes, no problems AT ALL. It is just pure fun. We use it as a screen display or as an elegant diversion for students who come to send a fax and have to wait a couple of minutes for a confirmation to print out. They can change any of the settings, turn on ALL the options if they want to. Can't possibly hurt it. But my favorite feature...you can resize the window to any size or shape, change any of the options one right after the other and PIXEL TOY JUST WILL NOT STOP. No screen redraw AT ALL. Doesn't even need to catch it's breath. PIXEL TOY is just a magnificent little program that harms no one and makes your day a little nicer. (And I only have the 1.1v. I can't wait to play with the new one!

OSPREY  Play with the settings, create your own color combinations, tweak the controls and then sit back and admire your handiwork. I have spent hours with this app and I continue to go back for more experimentation and wonderment.
