MACMEDIA  Running demo now (only 2 streams). Seems pretty fast and relatively easy to use. Interface is VERY early 90's. I'd buy it if the price was reasonable but $50!!! (actually discounted to $40 today) - the people using NZB files are the ones not willing to shell out the big bucks. If the price dropped to $20 or below, perhaps I consider this but what are these people thinking??

LOUNGE DELUXE  On the TechSono website it is nowhere mentioned that superNZB has to be purchased, let alone its price. I'll stick to the freeware and amazing SABnzbdplus.

RPAEGE  The point of using NZB files is so you don't have to wade through (sometimes literally) a million headers in a newsgroup to download your favourite RAR (or other NZB) files. That said, this is a useful, though overpriced and crippled 'til registered, utility. The interface is decidedly spartan, with no frills or Mac-style niceties in the form of fancy widgets or polished windows. It also has somewhat annoying flashing buttons prompting you with what to do next. Set up couldn't be easier however, and if you have decent news server the downloads using NZB files can be blazing.

There are cheaper alternatives, but for those with money to burn this is an adequate downloader.

By the way, NZB files can be found, usually for a nominal one-time donation, on websites that specialize in certain types of downloads. Typically, there are previews available to help you decide which NZB files will make your download worthwhile. There is really no need to pay a large fee for these files.

HAGOUN  SuperNZB is now ver. 1.31

- Go buy a copy ($25)

- go on newzleech.com or binsearch.info

- download your nzb files

- grab a free reader for other usenet stuff

for the same price as thoth or unison, but downloads are actually much faster with supernzb, which is quite ugly but works very well

DOM21  Two steps to save $50.00:

1) In your newsreader type 'nzb' in the address window while in any opened newsgroup.

2) When the resulting nzb's in the newsgroup are revealed download the ones you want.

(Fifty dollars??!!)
