BRIAN KENDIG  I just tried to install this on my 1.8GHz single-processor Power Mac G5 running 10.4.5, and it told me that my computer doesn't need the update.

SIXTYK  There were actually two different 1.8 GHz G5 models.

The first was the mid-range system when the G5 was first introduced. 1.8GHz, 8GB max RAM and PCI-X. It was discontinued with the release of the dual 1.8 GHz system.

Roughly a year later, Apple released a second 1.8 GHz system, this one with 4GB max RAM, and standard PCI. It also has the liquid cooling system.

I believe it is this second system that this update deals with.

OGER  I have exactly the same problem: don´t need this update. I have the 600mhz machine. I thought that´s what the update is for. Very frustrating as I still have some of the mentioned troubles. It was updated last year, but I think the firmware is still old. I found very little information in the web. In systemprofiler it says Boot-ROM-Version: 5.2.2f2

Can anyone help me install the new firmware? doesn´t anybody else have the same problem?
