ANDREW SCOTT Photo Wrangler seems to function quite well as a photo sorter. It's quite easy to have a number of "destination folders" to sort images into. All the important functions are present: rotate, zoom, slide show. However the interface has some significant failings: - heavy handed appearance with chunky buttons and overly generous borders around the image - underlined and bold text labels add to the amateurish appearance - unable to change keyboard shortcuts for destination folders - worst of all, it doesn't auto-rotate images using EXIF data which considerably slows down the workflow of processing large batches of images - animated text prompts at the bottom of the window are distracting and annoying. I suspect they are not limited to unregistered users. This is a promising application but not as pleasant to use as some of the alternatives such as PhotoReviewer or Xee. (Version 1.5) |
