BAMBAM Version 4.9 great, but one little problem here : when iStat Pro 4.9 is active in Dashboard, the Dashboard applicaton eats about 10% of prosessor activity, as shown by Activity Monitor, even when the widgets are not shown on the desktop. Disabling iStat Pro 4.9 then results in near 0% activity required by Dashboard. Re-installation of iStat Pro 4.8 also results in near 0% activity required by Dashboard. Is it my iMac G5 - 2GHz - 2GB Ram - 10.5.7, or is it version 4.9 of iStat Pro ?

FRANZ1234 I just updated and it runs flawless. Maybe it's your machine. I'm on a Macbook Pro, Leopard 10.5.7 and the Dashboard takes 0.0 CPU if I believe what the Activity Monitor says. (Version 4.9)

BLLOYD iStat Pro really is great. A beautiful, functional, low-impact "dashboard" of what's going on on your Mac. I've used iStat Pro on and off for years; I was using iStat Menus because it was easier but right now it's incompatible with 10.6 (they know about this and will be addressing it), so I'm back to iStat Pro which is really a very nice dashboard widget. CRYPTO7 Awesome program... does it what it says, doesn't require too much RAM for it (but I guess that's relatively speaking if you have 8 GB) and it's the only thermal program I can find that has all the temps w/out installing some ugly hack or startup item. (Version 4.6)

GUNNI In another comment on this application here, I noted the text and numbers appeared overlarge on my iMac. I wrote the developer and he directed me here for a fix. IStat Pro now works just fine after I deleted the two files he suggested and restarted.

GUNNI Is anyone else running Leopard having a problem with this neat little widget? I downloaded and ran it in Tiger and it displayed normally. In Leopard, however, it displays as if it my monitor were broken. Other widgets display just fine, but iStat Pro is pixelated and difficult, but not impossible, to read. Bob (Version 4.5)

RINCKER great widget, but please make the tall skin wider again (it's far too small now) and graphite should be dark-grey not grey-blue ...

E_COMMERCE Nice update. A few notes: - Temperature readouts are a bit buggy; when I disable certain sensors, either it doesn't respect that setting, or I get duplicates (for example, I disabled all heatsinks yet one shows up, and I have three readouts for "enclosure bottom") - New skin is okay - why did the old one "have to be removed"? While the new skin works well on a Dashboard widget, it will look like crap on the desktop via "debug mode" or the iStat application - Speaking of the iStat application - where are updates to it? It's been over six months while MAJOR enhancements have been made to the widget (intel fan support, much better memory statistics and reporting, etc). The lack of an application version really bugs me, as graphs of CPU and memory usage don't do much good if they can only record while the dashboard is active. (Version 4.0)

NEUTRALZONE Highly functional and useful. It's just too bad that the UI has a choice of several garish, semi-unreadable color schemes. I run my Mac with the Appearance set to Graphite, to gray everything back when editing photos, iStat won't respect the gray and insists on its colors. I hope future versions provide more customizable color schemes, or at the very least, a readable Graphite theme. (Version 3.3)

COLOURGRAVITY Have you tried the 'classic' 'dark/mono' style? (Version 3.3)
| Apr 20 2007 |
NEUTRALZONE When I commented on the inability of iStat to follow the colors of the OS X Appearance theme, I should have mentioned I was using the application, not the widget. Speaking of which, I have no use for the widget and greatly prefer the application. The widget has the disadvantage that it can't be watched while I work in other apps. When I try to use debug mode, going into Dashboard to see other widgets rips iStat out of debug mode and it disappears when I hide Dashboard. Thus, I agree with the recent post asking why the application is so far behind the widget. (Version 4.0)

MZEB Love the widget. I use it for everything except for one small but on my MacBook. For some reason the temperature monitor won't pick up the sensor in my core duo. A couple othe programs do so I know it's there. If I could get that working this would be the perfect widget for me. (Version 3.1)

BRENNANMEISTER There appear to be a number of failures with this last version. Firstly it fails to display the external IP address and, additionally, when flipped to reverse it becomes skeletal. Access to the developer's site (in order to attempt to download again) fails. (Version 3.01)

XARIK Awesome widget. Love the new design. I've been using iStat nano for a while, but now I think I'm going to switch to the pro version since I have the screen space to spare. ;) It's amazing that all this is for free. Thanks for all the hard work! It works great except for one bug that I noticed. When I go into the options and adjust display settings, it sometimes messees up the bar/graph features. For example, when I switched the CPU display from "advanced" to "simple," I got what I expected: no activity on the bar or graph. But when I changed it back to advanced, the bar/graph still showed no activity as if I were still in simple mode. Am I missing something? Hope this makes some sense. It's sort of hard to explain. Other than that, an awesome widget. Keep it up! (Version 3.01)

THECHEF I am running 10.4.7 on a MackBook Pro 2.16, and I can't get iStat pro to tell me the speed of my fans. It acts as though there are no fans. If I can't find the fan speed with iStat pro, is there another widget or program that will tell me? (Version 3.0)

STEVEN JAY COHEN I keep reverting to the old v1 SysStat. I leave processes and network visible. v3 is now almost ready to replace v1 for me. Network mode needs to list EXTERNAL IP. It doesn't you know, not even in advanced mode. (Version 3.0b1)

LEE MAJORS This seems a bit to beta for me, hangs on the loading screen then sucks up all of my remaining CPU power. Unusual, cause iSlayer is awesome, and all other versions have 'scrolled like butter'. (Version 3.0b1)

MARC EDWARDS Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, this is very much a beta... looking at the widget it's hard to gauge how much change has gone on under the hood. Pretty much everything has been remade. There will be a beta 2 soon that will fix all known bugs, then we'll almost be ready for prime time. Due to the amount of users using iStat, we want to make the release as clean as possible. Marc @ islayer. (Version 3.0b1)

BRENDAN MCKINLEY Best widget of its type I've seen, just two feature requests for iStat pro that are present in iStat nano. First have the ability to display processor activity separately, rather then averaging the stats/graph together in multiprocessor systems. Secondly have the option to display the temperature settings in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Thanks for the Widget guys, keep up the great work! (Version 2.1)

STEVEN JAY COHEN I agree. It is beautifully done. But, I can't upgrade from the old one unless it is going to list top processes again. I can't tell you how many times I used that feature to diagnose memory leaks in applications. So, I'm stuck on the old version of this widget until that feature shows up in the new one :( (Version 1.1)

AGENTSMITHONE Written in Cocoa and Javascript this widget is very responsive and pretty.
