SEMIOTICMONKEY First thing first. It lacks a way to generate .torrents. So it is useless for the those who are not accustomed to the hit-and-run policy of the others p2p protocols. In this regard it is comparable to Transmission but: Transmission is at 0.4 release and not 1.0 In my opinion, It is not a good idea to request a fee to give a unfinished product and this, until the dev puts the "Generate Torrent" option, is an unfinished product. then, the GUI is a wasted screen space. To have all the info visible you have to have the window at a minimum of 640x480 and this, for all those on a 12" iBook or PowerBook is an insane request. This is valid for the others too. I suggest a GUI rethink. Something more compact. I would suppress the "Folder Pane" the utility of which i don't see. It lacks, like the others client (except Azu), the Selective Download Option. But, again, this is not freeware so i expect somethin more than the free alternatives for my money. It persists in not remembering the last path in the Open/Save dialog (yes, i set it up to ask everytime and not to use the defaul path) I stop here but there would be more to say. All in all, unimpressed. Use BOW, instead. (Version 1.0) |
