Think I've found a bug : it's "impossible to connect to amazon" when my search string contains a single quote, this is this character : ' Perhaps a bug with the search field wich is not protected aginst it... This is not a big problem since i've juste to escape the char to have it working, but fixing it for noobs would be cool :) PS: Using version 2.13 of the widget with iTunes version 8.1.1 on mac os x 10.5.7 (Version 2.13)

LOUNGE DELUXE I can confirm this bug. Quite annoying, but otherwise this is an excellent widget and I'm highly grateful for it. I like the fact that you can select 1 album and have the widget look for cover art for that particular album rather than having your entire library analyzed for missing cover art. I really hope this widget will be actively developed through time and new iTunes releases. (Version 2.13)

CHLOE It still works perfectly for me with iTunes 8.1.1 You only need to make sure that iTunes is open and a track/song that you want to find album cover art image for is selected in iTunes, before activating the widget. It's fast, free and non-obstrusive. (Version 2.12)

GOLDEN Very, very pleased. Does what it says. Only wish is that it could somehow find larger pictures, big enough so that they wouldnt be blocky when in the full screen album flow mode in itunes, but I think this limitation is from Amazon, and not the software. (Version 2.10)

FRMORPHEUS The old version uses to work pretty well. But with the new one (2.9), I can't import directly the covert art in iTunes. So, it's useless, isn't it ? Too bad 'cause this is a pretty good soft. (Version 2.9)

LONNIEHB How very quickly did album art grabbing widgets/software become usless. iTunes 7 - does it all for you. Thanks to the developer though! I've been using this one and it was nice. (Version 2.9)

UMIJIN Not so fast partner. iTunes only can find covers for stuff that's on the iTunes store. And if your tags are off, it won't work right either, AFAIK. (Version 2.9)

HALIGON Also, you need an iTMS account in the first place, so I still need things like this widget. (Version 2.9)

CTHULHU11 The ITMS album art appears to only include front covers, and downloaded art seems to go into a seperate metadata tree rather than being stuffed into the first track. The latter means that it doesn't transport with the files; the former is downright annoying. (Version 2.9)

JORGEHP Without a doubt one the best and most useful widgets. And in my humble opinion its also the best of its kind. I like the fact that you can select the tracks you want the art added to. Also, the fact that you can choose from the sometimes different cover art that Amazon.com has for the same album gives you the chance to make the appropiate selection. This and the fact that the developer makes frequent improvements is a great plus! Slim (60k), fast, reliable. What more could anyone ask! (Version 2.6)

STECCHINO Just spent 30 minutes with the widget. It works well as far as suggesting the correct art and imports is just fine. Nice compact widget size is appreciated. Would be great if the widget would automatically "listen" to the currently playing track or album and pre-populate the search field with the name. Would make this process even simpler. SW2 Hehe... yeah, a few people had complained about the small images - and others had complained previously about the images being too large. So it had to be a preference, really. :-)

@A Great widget but I have one question. Why is it with artwork downloading plugins and widgets, the size of the images are in the 300-700K range when added to the music file? If I simply go to Amazon's site and download the JPEG myself, it's only 16-50K? Is the widget saving it as a TIFF image or something? It doesn't really make sense to me. This may not seem much but add 300-700K to thousands of MP3s and it will cost you a lot of space overall. (Version 1.8)

SW2 It's to do with the way Applescript adds images to iTunes. There isn't a way to add an image as a JPEG (as far as I can find out), you have to convert it to a PICT file first. Internally, iTunes converts the PICT to a PNG before adding it to your image, but PNGs typically aren't as compact as JPEGs, especially for photographic or complex graphical images. One of the changes in this version of the widget is to limit the size of images stored in iTunes to 240x240 pixels, which will help avoid unnecessary iTunes library bloat. (Version 1.8)
| Jan 19 2006 |
ASMEURER I would rather not have that size limit. Could you add an option to remove it. (Version 1.8)
| Jan 20 2006 |
@A I agree. I definately don't want the artwork to be limited to 240 x 240. (Version 1.8)

BRUCE_Y I am more with the first poster, wishing to have the album images take the minimum amount of space. Of course, everyone will have a different idea of what is their acceptable size and space limit. For me, with a smaller capacity iPod, I find that the album images I import directly from Amazon or AMG are usually in the 200x200 (or close) size, with my largest usually being 300x300 pixels. And the space taken for the jpegs is usually in the 10 or 12 KB on the small size to 36KB for the larger ones. I gues best solution is to have a use selectable size range (either pixels or jpg KB). STEVEMMYERS For music lovers, this is a required "must have" widget. This is designed for those of us who like to have a beautifuly clean iTunes library. This bare-bones widget has a very simple interface that within 3 steps we are provided good size/quality images for our iTunes library. Highly recommended. Running OS X 10.4.3 - Dual 2.0 G5 - 512 RAM (Version 1.7)

Unfortunately some users are still seeing excessive CPU usage with this widget. I'm working hard to find and eliminate the problem and hope to release an upgrade very soon. ASMEURER The interface is fantastic. Just three suggestions: There should be some way to add the artwork to the whole album other than by having to select all of them. If no song is selected in party shuffle, why can't it just choose the playing song? Why can't I add more than one art to a song? Choosing a different one just deletes and overrides the old one. iTunes does allow for multiple album artworks, you know. Other than this, this is fantastic. (Version 1.5)

PASCALPP Rad! Most Excellent. One thing I wish is that it would automatically add the artwork to all track in a given album, but that's probably a bit of a pain to implement. Also I think the 'Get from iTunes' button should be bigger or have a little more space around it. For me it's too small a target considering I'll likely be using that every time. Anyway, a great widget. I might actually use Dashboard now! (Version 1.2)

SW2 Hi pascalpp - thanks for the compliments, I'm glad you like the widget. To set the art for all tracks in an album, simply select all the tracks before hitting the Add to iTunes button. The widget will set your chosen image as the artwork for all selected tracks. Hope this helps!
| Dec 17 2005 |
PASCALPP yep i figured that would do it. but it would be cool if there was an option to automatically set the artwork for every track where artist name is X and album name is Y. so you could grab the art for a whole album without having to select the album first. you wouldn't have to interact with itunes at all. btw, i was poking around inside your widget (i'm a web developer) and i noticed that the Get From iTunes image has an href wrapped around it AND an onclick. i think both of these events are getting triggered, causing the display to flicker as the search is run twice. Removing the onclick seemed to fix it for me. (Version 1.3)

ROSS WILLITS Fantastic! It's so easy. I've tried other album art importers, but this is two clicks and you're done. One minus is that there's no way to tell the widget that it's got the wrong album cover and to try again. You take it or leave it. (Version 1.1)
