KRABBE  Having read the previous comments, I´d like to make a suggestion to the developer: How about changing the idea for the program from computer aided parenting towards computer gaming - designed for children. Kids could choose the story they want to hear by themselves. The only thing that needed to be changed is the gki, the graphical kid interface. Some big yet simple icons representing the stories, to make selection easier, plus a picture of a Teddy or something, representing the person telling the story, sometimes moving his head or arm, started and paused by a click on his mouth - there are no boundaries for imagination...

Then this program would be more than a technical prothesis for the grandmother, it would be a toy, played by children themselves, or together with their (grand-)parents.

HENRIKTEKNIK  Parents using this instead of reading stories for their kids by themselves, really need to rethink their life situation. Has work and stress made them THIS busy?

MATT21  Parents: your kids need YOU to read to them, not a machine! This software is a terrible idea.

PAUL YOUNG  I agree with your point but use your imagination. My mother would love to read to her great grandchildren but she is visually impaired. This application would give her an opportunity if someone else set it up for her. Thank you for your comment.

KEMACSABE  Just downloaded this to try. I agree that a parent is the first choice to read to the kids, but there are many instances when it's not possible. I'd rather give my 5-year old some Mac time as a nice intro to computers than stick him in front of Cartoon Network. There are lots of toys that tell your kids stories - teddy bears and the like - so why not make your Mac a friend, too? Mine is part of the family as it is. No kibble to buy, no papers to put down...
