JAN13 What are the differences between TechTool Deluxe and TechTool Pro? They rip you off for more $$$ Dollars $$$ ... I am a living example. Diskwarrior & DriveGenius is way to go ... (Version 3.1.3)

RPAEGE I also no longer see any value in using this tool when Disk Utility and Disk Warrior really do all that is needed. I also find the circa 1996 Norton Utilities-like GUI rather cloying. (Version 3.1.3)

DONMONTALVO I've long abandoned TechTool in favor of Apple's own solutions (built into the system) or DiskWarrior. Marketing hype aside, I just don't see any real value in TechTool. Don Montalvo, NYC (Version 3.1.2)

LAINSNAVI Is anyone actually able to install this update? I've tried downloading the disk image twice from the site and it says it failed to mount because it's "not recognized." Mac mini Intel Core Duo (Version 3.1.2)

MRUBEN Finally was able to connect to Micromat's FTP server, BUT... ... I'm on a 6+ Mbps broadband connection, and the file is downloading at only 10kB/sec - that's dial-up speeds. C'mon Micromat, this isn't 1997 - can you at least have a mirror for your files. Sheesh! (Version 3.1.2)

BIGDAVE56 Whew! I thought it was just me. I got about 6-10K on two different broadband connections. FWIW, I had just downloaded an update of about the same size from another developer over the same wifi network. That one downloaded at 384K. (Version 3.1.2)

EJI Update to 3.1.2 succeeded, apparently, but it just hangs on "Scanning Volumes..." and never gets anywhere. Quality stuff, Micromat. Does Apple actually pay you to include this half-baked utility with AppleCare? (Version 3.1.2)

MAILMAN42 Does not install properly. I have Tech Tool 3.1.1 installed, and ran the "updater", yet it claims 3.1.2 is installed. when I click on Tech Tools, it still claims not to work with Leopard & shows 3.1.1 Yet, this same version, when asked to "check updates" claims it is 3.1.2. Something is not right in TinselTown (Version 3.1.2)

LACWBO At least you could download for whatever good it did. I can't even download. Either get an error or timeout on my connection to Micromat. Micromat needs to find some people who know what they are doing. Maybe Apple needs to latch on to someone else. (Version 3.1.2)

MAILMAN42 The download took a while, since everyone was trying to grab the update. For Me. I had to uninstall, re-install 3.11 from the cd/dvd, then re-run the updater, and then it finally worked. (Version 3.1.2)

MRUBEN Is anyone able to connect to Micromat's server to download this update? I sure can't. I wish Apple would find a different partner for this type of software - I've had it with Micromat. (Version 3.1.2)

FYREFLYE My Speed Download is stalling on the connection. Since most Mac owners have AppleCare there may just be too much traffic on the server right now. (Version 3.1.2)

SOREN0 You can now download the bootable CD of this version from: https://support.apple.com/techtooldeluxe/main?id=dl Thank you Apple! (Version 3.1.1)

ANONYMOUS Well, I read all these negative comments about not being able to download MicroMat's updates, and thought they were just from newbies who didn't know how to donwload files. But they were right. I clicked "Download", went to my Micromat Account Control Panel, clicked "Download" again, went to a list of files, clicked "Download" again -- and ended up back at the Control Panel where I started! Just to for fun, and to make sure, I went around to the loop a few more times. In the programming trade, that's called an "infinite loop", i.e., there's no way out. And no download. Well, everybody makes mistakes, but it seems that Micromat is unusually slow about fixing things. I had this problem on 10/17, and other people have reported what sounds like the same problem more than a month ago. Since others have reported that they WERE able to download, maybe the problem only occurs when the server is overloaded But if that's true, wouldn't you think that Micromat would post a note to that effect, instead of giving people more reason to flame them? ALDORR I just clicked on the link and was immediately taken to my account page, since I already registered the product. Then from that page I was given the choice to download TechTool Deluxe updates. Which I did. It works. TTD is not as feature-rich as TTP, which I own for one of my computers. TTD is on the other one. I've been using this for a long time and am very happy with it. I'm not sure what's up with your guys accounts. But give it another try. (Version 3.0.4)

BKOSKI I was able to download the file. If you have a previous TechTool Deluxe, do not input the serial number on your cd-rom - it's on all disks of that version (the first person to try it has succesfully used that number, though). Input your Apple Care registration number (which may be on your TechTool Deluxe AppleCare cd's envelope - mine was), or get it from your paperwork. However, despite downloading, attempting to install it gave the prompt that a prior TechTool Deluxe needs to be installed for this update to work. What's the point of that? A utility startup disk doesn't care what's on a system. I was hoping the process would be similar to DiskWarrior, an update which updates the disk, creating a new disk image to then burn an updated and usable disk. Any ideas? I don't know what this update accomplishes. (Version 3.0.4)

FOULGER What a dumb system - why can't they just supply a download link like everyone else. Its easier to get into the Kremlin than download an update (Version 3.0.4)

ANONYMOUS I'm having the same problem. Seems like I get run around to everywhere but an actual download link. Even when I click on what appears to be a download link, it just takes me back to my account page. I wonder if their software is as inept as their web page. (Version 3.0.4)
