GCOGHILL  Excellent little widget, the faux-Netflix mailer is perfect. Netflix site updates will break the functionality, but the developer usually updates within a day or so.

EVAL  An update to the NetFlix site in the past week must have broken version 1.4. This doesn't work as of 5/10/2008 (perhaps earlier).

TOXIKK  Broken? It says that there is nothing in my at home queue and when I flip it over I do not see any entries. Hmm.

TOXIKK  The issue I described has been resolved in 1.3.

MKAISERMAN  Although not yet loaded here, on the developer's web site (click "More Information" above) he has a new version (1.2) that fixes the estimated arrival date issue, as well as a mini-version for those (like me) that wanted a smaller sized Dashflix.

Nice widget!

ANONYMOUS  Neat idea. I'd like to see a larger font, especially given the bulk of the widget and the room available for the text. And it would be nice if it showed you the top 5 or 10 movies in your queue, not just the movies you have out, and I'm on the 3-at-a-time program.

ANONYMOUS  This is a neat and simple widget that does what it claims and no more. The design is quite clever also. I like what it offers and would like to thank the developer.

that said...

1) the widget might be too bulky for some.

2) the mouse scroll wheel doesnt work with the scroll bar.

3) it seems to rely on safari cookies which may be problematic for non-safari users.

4) the widget opens netflix pages in the current window (so if you are writing a review for instance and click on a movie in the widget you'll lose it...)

I wish that...

1) there was an easy way to jump straight to your queue.

2) you could manage your queue (move movies up/down, add to queue)

3) you could look up movies

PIKO  Is anyone else concerned that the DashFlix was able to use the Safari Cookie to access your NetFlix account?! It's not so bad that DashFlix is able, but that ALL of my cookies are exposed to Dashboard Widgets. What's to stop someone else from writing a trojan horse style widget that takes advantage of a whole slew of other cookies it might find?

Fortunately for me, most of the more critical sites I visit force me to log in on first click (WaMu, eTrade), and other force a password before taking irreversible action (eBay, Amazon, Paypal)... But seriously. I can't be the only one with this concern...

ANONYMOUS  There's nothing too worry about any more than with other applications on you computer. Whether it's MS Word some random shareware game, if you run the app it has have access to your files. Cookies, too. You should take them same care with Dashboard widgets that you would with any application that you download.
