HIHAGEN  Why is that? .. are you online when you use it? .. Do you have 10.4 installed?

MURRYFAX  This widget does not work at all for me. It installed without any "Show country" and "Visit" buttons, and there does not seem to be any way of seeing the other side, as in the case of other widgets. I do have MacOS X.4.4. So what could be wrong? If there is something you have to do to make it work, could you not include something more than screenshots on the information page?

Best wishes

GS

GEOGRAPHY JIM  Easter Island is probably not listed because it is a Chilean territory (see http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ci.html for confirmation).

FLARCH  What's to say?

Slick little widget.

(i was a bit surprised that with some of the obscure islands in the database, Easter Island wasn't one of them.)

A GLASWEGIAN  Ireland, very brief background:

"Celtic tribes arrived on the island between 600-150 B.C. Invasions by Norsemen that began in the late 8th century were finally ended when King Brian BORU defeated the Danes in 1014. English invasions began in the 12th century and set off more than seven centuries of Anglo-Irish struggle marked by fierce rebellions and harsh repressions. A failed 1916 Easter Monday Rebellion touched off several years of guerrilla warfare that in 1921 resulted in independence from the UK for 26 southern counties; six northern (Ulster) counties remained part of the United Kingdom. In 1948 Ireland withdrew from the British Commonwealth; it joined the European Community in 1973. Irish governments have sought the peaceful unification of Ireland and have cooperated with Britain against terrorist groups. A peace settlement for Northern Ireland, known as the Good Friday Agreement and approved in 1998, is being implemented with some difficulties."

ANONYMOUS  Correct. Technically, the UK's full name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

ANONYMOUS  I like the new features. However I would have liked it even more if the ? and +/- buttons had been in the black frame and not on the map itself.

ANONYMOUS  Uhuh, really sounds cool. Would like to use it. However am having Os X.3.9. I really hate it when software is only available for the latest Os. As if X3 is already prehistoric...

ANONYMOUS  Well, you know that Dashboard is a NEW feature of 10.4? And that these widgets work with Dashboard?

That said, if you did a little research you'd know that there is something that will let you use some Dashboard widgets in 10.3.9

BOB  Minor quibble. It shows UK, but not the separate countries (England, Wales, Northern Ireland - Oh, and Scotland!) that make up the UK (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).

Otherwise excellent.

ANONYMOUS  On an international, worldwide scale, the nationalist tendencies of the British nations is too inconsequential to demand such specificity in a widget.

DARREN  Okay, this is really cool. I mean it. Not like it'll be up all the time, but I found myself looking at countries I always wondered about but never bothered to look up.

Thanks. Neat stuff. Cool.
