VIRTUALRUFFY LOVE IT! I have had it for many many years and it was one of the first shareware games I ever purchased. I keep hoping to see an update that adds some new content to it or a version 2. BOOM Forever! (Version 1.5.6)

MYLES wow, i first played this game from a macworld cd, or maybe it was macuser, either way it was when i was like 7 (im 18 now). I used to love this game, the two player is cool, and the bosses are even cooler, im not gonnna bother downloading it though, cause ive been there done that got the tshirt bought the hat. What I will say is this, get this game some online support, a couple team based games and ffa modes, and you'll be onto a game you can sell at $25+ Anyway good luck with everything, and if youve never played boom, phone a friend, download it, and get ready for some imp exploding fun! IGABE I agree with the idea for supporting multiple players over the internet (like StarCraft or etc). I'm sure I'd start playing this game again if it had that. Also, it would be an incredible motivation to pay for BOOM for those that still haven't after all these years (shame on me for this). You could make it so only registered people could play the internet competitions. (Version 1.5.6)

ANONYMOUS I was so excited when I saw this game for OSX. After playing it though, I realized that this isn't like the original bomberman-you can walk through the bombs, and the enemies don't set bombs to trap you, they shoot you. This is not nearly as fun as it was...I hope the developer changes this, then I might consider paying to register. (Version 1.5.2)

LINDA WANTED.....Why is it that the newest version (1.5) doesn't work on my computer? I've tried to upgrade my 1.4.6 version to the 1.5 one, but when I try to launch it my mac tells me: "exception during start up.... error 260". I am no "computer nerd" and therefor have NO IDEA what this means. I only know that my previous version was also destroyed and can not play this "booming" game anymore. Is there somebody out there who can help me fix this problem???? Thanx (Version 1.5)

WHATEVER try deleting its pref's file, it may be labelled as "boom.plist" or something similar, do a Find (search) for that and delete it and then launch the game again. and maybe you should fix your permissions on your HD, use Apple's Disk Utility, part of OS X. (Version 1.5)
| Jun 13 2004 |
If the suggestion from 'whatever', above does not help, Tell us what version Mac OS you are using. That may be relevant to the problem. Also, have you tried to email the author at fedefil@factor-software.com ? Tell him your Mac model, Mac OS version, and the error message. I registered the game last year, and my experience with shareware developers replying to emails has been very good. (Version 1.5)

ANONYMOUS I'll never understand this fascination people have with 10.1, when both Jag and Panther run faster on the same hardware, have more features, and are generally better in every way. (Version 1.5)
| Jun 13 2004 |
NICK M The reason why you'll find many people still using earlier OS's, is because that was the OS their Mac came with, and it works. Spending a three figure sum just to play a shareware game does not make much sense to them, especially when all their productivity software already works. May not be an issue in this case, if all the 10.1 user needs is a free point upgrade to run this title. Some people just ain't geeky enough to want teh 755â est OS. (Version 1.5)
| Jun 15 2004 |
COLINA It *does work* in 10.1 (as stated) maybe you have to delete the "Boom Preferences" in the ~/Library/Preferences folder. (Version 1.5)

FRINGEWOOD Comments below apply to Classic and 10.1.x. Don't go to 1.4.x unless you're running Jag. You'll be sorely disappointed with the mechanics. Find a copy of 1.3 (10.1.x) or 1.2.3 (Classic). These copies should be offered on the site for older versions. (Version 1.4.2)

FRINGEWOOD The problem with Boom 1.4.x is that it loses graphic plotting points around levels 8 to 11 (no one particular point in the levels, just in the general area), offsetting the refreshing background graphic behind the sprites' path. The offset usually places the score box in the field of play and places stone blocks in the pathways too. It becomes increasingly confusing to determine game play layout as the level proceeds, until movement is the only indicator of gameplay pathways. It totally destroys an otherwise very enjoyable game. IAN LUECK Version 1.4 is VERY unstable. Whereas full screen mode worked in the past, it unexpectedly quits when you start a game in full screen mode. So basically you're limited to small windowed mode, which isn't as cool. The new help menu is a welcome addition, however. I'd recommend you stick with version 1.3; it's the bomb. DICKMAC¨ This is a cool game!! In all ways it's a simple kind off game. But I think excactly that is it's strenght! It's a very playable game and I was hooked the first time I played it. Before you finish all 80 levels, it will give you much fun and many hours of playing time. Although with the saving option in the lates version, there's a challenge less.... (Version )
