	Jul 1 2005	ANONYMOUS Dumb. Absolutely ridiculous. From their site: "I'm not downloading anything yet my cache is still growing, why? One of Dijjer's benefits is its "pre-emptive caching". This means that even users not actively downloading files from Dijjer will still contribute back to the Dijjer network, improving Dijjer's performance for everyone." So if I just want to download one stinking thing my computer becomes a continuous server for stuff I don't even want! Yeah right, sure I could uninstall it, but read the uninstall instructions for OSX it is ridiculous. "Pre-emptive" caching is the stupidest thing ever. (Version 0108)		0

	Mar 11 2005	ANONYMOUS good concept overall, though before I'm convinced of installing this and using it, a better/clearer install/uninstall would be nice, able to know what is going behind the scenes (via a console of some kind) and MOST important of all, the preemptive caching gotta go or at least the ability to enable/disable. ANONYMOUS We are working on a better mac uninstaller. To be frank, we were rather surprised that Apple doesn't provide an uninstallation mechanism by default with their PackageMaker application. It is frustrating that developers need to devise their own custom solution for uninstallation.

You can see what is going on behind the scenes by visiting http://127.0.0.1:9115/ in your web browser when Dijjer is running.

The preemptive caching is fundamental to Dijjer's operation and isn't going anywhere.

	Feb 20 2005	STRONGMANTIM This installer creates a folder in /Library/StartupItems and installs a handful of files. I don't know if it installed things anywhere else. It has tried connecting to five different IPs, though I do not know what info they are sending/receiving. I haven't connected to any sites that use this protocol (or whatever it is), but it is still connecting to those servers. (Version 0098)		0

ANONYMOUS Dijjer installs files in /Library/StartupItems/Dijjer and /usr/local/dijjer. To uninstall, run:

sudo /Library/StartupItems/Dijjer/Dijjer stop

Then get the OSXGNU uninstaller from http://www.osxgnu.org/software/Utils/OSXGNU/ and use it to remove the Dijjer package.

We are working on a more convenient uninstallation mechanism
