NEUTRALZONE 0.9.6 release notes say "Keychain issues resolved" but it still asks me for full login information on start even though I checked "Add to Keychain." This is 0.9.6b according to the About box. Nice improvements otherwise. (Version 0.9.6)

NETRAG after you fill in the "As user" field in the login drawer, it should ask bring up the authentication window the first time and subsequent connections should work with the keychain as long as you keep the "As user" field filled in correctly. if your ip changes you will have to authenticate again. hope this helps. email me directly if you have futher problems bgsoftware@mac.com (Version 0.9.6)

NEUTRALZONE Yes, that was it! Now that I have filled in "As user" it no longer asks for authentication. I use static IP addresses on this network so changing IPs should not be a problem. Thank you for the quick reply even though I recognize this site is not an official support channel. (Version 0.9.6)

ZIRE71MAN Its great but would be better if you could change the equalizer like with TuneConnect. I don't use TuneConnect anymore but would like to see the implementation of equalizer support in Remote Remote...IMO. (Version 0.9.5)

ANONYMOUS Great work. I tasted it with iTunes 4.9 on a G4 Dual and with my Powerbook. If you can make a extra window for a playlist view this will be better than use the playlist as a pulldown list.

BARRY One word.... "SAaaWEeeT! Great functions, simple interface, easy of use - "straight out of the box!" I've been fart'n around for the llast couple years putting together an iTunes music server in an 'ole DTG3. Old school - hard wired from ethernet network to the mini stereo cable from the basement music server to the home stereo upstairs. Remote Remote totally and simply completed my set up! No running to the basement anymore for volume control, or music selection. Any Mac on the network now can control what's played on the stereo. One request, if possible? My wife loves listening to internet radio. Is there a way to actually be able to select the different stations. This would be nice feature! Thanks again !! LooOOOve IT! (Version 0.9.2b)

SIMON DOBBS what's the point? Simply share the music on different networked computers using iTunes. Control access and volume to any speakers in he house via iTunes. This software is totally redundant. (Version 0.9.5)

ANONYMOUS Nice little app, but the authorization is a little scary. First, it doesn't use the standard keychain authorization dialog box that the other apps use in Tiger. Second, it always asks for the username and password even if I selected "Add to keychain?" last time. It never remembers the info, or never retrieves it from the keychain, because I have to type in the info every time I start up the program. One is left wondering if the authorization dialog box is fake or security-flawed or meant to transmit your login info somewhere. I don't think so, but the odd authorization behavior is unsettling. BRIAN easy tiger, there is no code in remote remote regarding authentication. the authentication is built in to the remote apple events protocol and how it behaves is out of my control. there were definitely some issues with it in panther and i don't know how many of them were worked out in tiger. the main issue in panther was that you couldn't use certain charcters ie. / ? # % : see the troubleshooting section of the readme for more info (Version 0.9.2b)

BERNIEC This is a great app. Just when I was getting ready to start learning applescript so I could do this myself, I find this. The two things that are bummers: A) it can't start iTunes and B) you can't change the output to an airport express. I believe A is not possible with remote apple events, and B is not actually a scriptable function within iTunes. Still, great little app. For what it does, it does it very well. (Version 0.9.1b)

ANONYMOUS Great little app. From my Point of view, there is only thing missing. It would be great to select shared libraries from other computers. I use a server and i would like to play songs which are stored on my PowerBook, using the speakers, which are connected to the server. (Version 0.9b)

DIABLO943 I love Remote Remote. I have been using it since 0.5.4b and love all the new features. It is very light weight, simple and effective. It has been rock-solid since day one and is an essential tool in my iTunes music system. I have all my music stored on a server, played through an old computer and sent to my Airport Express when I am upstairs. Remote Remote is the last piece in the puzzle and it fits perfectly! I love that you can now rate a song. I have been dying for that feature. I would love to see the ability to add a comment remotely, too. I have a radio show and I add the comment "clean" to tracks that meet the FCC's guidelines. Even better would be a few user-assignable buttons that can insert user-defineable comments; clean, curse, etc.

ANONYMOUS It's nice and very convenient...but I listen to a lot of internet MP3 radio streams and Remote Remote does not list the current track name. iTunes can, so I sort of expected it. Also, it says there are 21 tracks of unknown duration, while iTunes lists the elapsed time playing the stream. Bonus points if it could somehow cache and therefore list the last x tracks played! Keep up the good work! (Version 0.8.4b)

LHOMME0520 This is just freakin' awesome. A few weeks ago I received a Mac mini and I set out to turn the thing into a media server. iTunes was the first candidate on the list. I tried several solutions just too cumbersome or useless to mention here. Remote Remote just does the job. It is just stupid-simple to implement and use. I don't have to do anything but keep iTunes running on the Mac mini, turn on Apple Remote Events in Sharing SysPrefs, and launch the d**n app. After that, I get gobs of good tunes. Thank you for making something so simple. Truly elegant. (Version 0.8.3b)

SCHMELDING 0.8b does some funny things the previous versions didn't: Keeps launching my local iTunes, has trouble connecting to my remote machine, and has trouble displaying the current track information (acts as if it hasn't connected). I still think this app rawks. Keep up the good work. (Version 0.8b)

JAKE FOWLER Just last night I turned my old B&W into a music server and was thinking that a remote control from my pb would be perfect. I tried the other server/client app, but this is even better. Thanks! One request: I listen to music by shuffling by album rather than song. You can skip to the next album in iTunes with an option click on the next song arrow, but the remote won't let me do that, I have to skip each song in the album, a minor annoyance, considering, but I would love to see that supported! SCHMELDING It is different because you can control what iTunes *is playing* on an different Mac. So I can be working on one Mac, but playing iTunes on another (saves resources). (Version 0.5.3)
