PETE-ON-THE-WEB  All I can say is amazing.

A while back I was 'trying' to stitch a series of photo's together using Photoshop Elements 6, and a couple other panorama programs I found here. I gave up in frustration. I ended up with knots for the panoramas or nothing. I deleted the series of panorama shots long ago. I'll have to take them once again & use DoubleTake to do the job of stitching them together.

This is so easy and effortless. I made three panoramas in no time. They look great!

ISGOED  This program uses a different approach than other Panorama programs. You slide and position images in place and that works very inuitive compared to 3-point alignment. The result can be pretty good in a few seconds although a good panorama takes probably 10 minutes. It is fast too (I guess you only work on smaller preview images, ond compute the final image on save) The interface is very inutive and OS-X like (appealing cocoa app). The app is also very stable (does not crash). I would like to see more geometry options: negative fisheye & Hor+Ver-fisheye simultaneously & skew. The only odd thing is that this is a Panorama maker, which to me is not completely clear just looking at the name and description. The pricepoint is exactly right (especially when you pay in EUR (1 EUR = 1.5 USD)

JANGLE  Really easy to use and pretty much all you need for stiching. I just wish I had more RAM and CPU to process a bunch of 8MP pics more smoothly.

L-I-N-K  DoubleTake is the first choice if you want some pictures merged to a panorama - it takes a few minutes and produces great results.

For the moment you might have to check and calculate the focal length correction for your camera manually - chances are good that future versions will do that automatically...

If you have some more money to spend: Give AutoPano Pro a try - it does a even better job when dealing with images that have large offset and exposure variation - including HDR calculations.

TROGGY  This thing is better than sliced bread, because if you wanted to, I bet DoubleTake could stitch the bread back together for you. It's that good! ;)

Seriously though, REALVIZ and Adobe you should feel pretty low. This thing puts their stitching tools to shame, and for what? $17? What a trip!

JON T  Just the best Panorama maker out there. Its simplicity belies just what you can do with this app. I have put together 7 and more Nikon nef files of 8 megs each to create panoramas of up to 15,000 pixels in width. The outputs are great.

I have tried many many different ways to create panoramas, and after many disappointments, used to rely on my own work in Photoshop. This app blows away all my previous efforts and I for one take my hat off to the developer. Incidentally, this is the first application I have felt strongly enough about to comment on in MacUpdate. Says it all.

PANOMAN  This is a great piece of software!!!

The drop & drag make it soooo easy to use.

My only complaint is with the sliders that let you adjust where the pics are blended. These could be larger. If you miss clicking one, you end up shifting your photo.

As a novice pano dude, I always get one photo that's much brighter or darker than the rest.

Suggestion: it would be an awsome option to be able to adjust things like brightness on individual photos to better blend.

Autostitich has been repackaged a number of times; for mac it is here, as Calico:

and although some may prefer it's idiot proof ways, it certainly has limitations.

Many better options exist for mac users, Doubletake being one of them!

BLUEPOLO  autostitch is the absolute best panorama creator, but its a win32 app although it runs under WINE so maybe DARWINE?

ANONYMOUS  Great piece of software, but lacking the ability to choose how much the images are blended. Hopefully in the next release, as this was one feature I was looking for.

DCE  There are more full featured image stitchers out there, but I've not seen one as easy to use as this. And the price can't be beat!

I was very happy with the initial results, though some turned out better than others. The only problem is that it's meant for two images rather than vast panoramas. This limitation can be bypasses by repeatedly saving a merged image and then adding to it. A bit laborious. but it works well enough.

Hopefully this issue will be solved with further development. And the ability to manually position photos when the application doesn't quite get it spot on would be wonderful. All in all, however, this is a great piece of freeware!
