MACROXX  Finally Cocoazip has a nice interface and is easy to use.

I use MacOS 10.3.9 and Cocoazip does not delete the temporay zip files which it creates in the /private/tmp folder. It would be good if it could do that in the next version.

ANONYMOUS  This program works, I think it could use a few more features. A progress dialog on the "Folder" tar screen would be handy for backing up large directories to a remote location. Also, having the option to tar, then gzip a directory would be nice too.

STEPHEN RUDOLPH  Terribly sorry about the mess. The last project I did was pre-XTools, and I didn't realize how they seperate out the deployment builds so the compiler will run faster while debugging. The program is now up and operating, sorry for the convenience!

ANONYMOUS  The Finder's "Create Archive" (Zip) option is really not reliable with non OS X systems. I believe it can even have problems with OS X 10.2 or previous. 10.3 is really the only one you can count on opeing them without trouble. I know Windows can find them unreadable.

That said, I think this app would be fine for users that dont want to use the command line. I imagine its just a GUI front end for the built in Unix commands. I am grateful every time somone writes a command line front end & saves me more trouble.

ANONYMOUS  First off, in some ways it is obsolete because Panther has a contextual menu zip in the finder and it can uncompress/zip/tar/etc any of these formats.

However it is pretty good for those who aren't good with command-line stuff and want other compression techniques.

Three requests:

-I would like to see it also do bzip2.

-ability to select "degree" of compression (fast-best) on the applicable methods.

-just in the interest of completeness, why doesn't it untar or unzip?
