MISTERSQUID While this software really is the best eBay software for Mac, it is only incrementally better than the native eBay web interface. Editing in Preview mode is horrific. You thought Word was bad, GarageSale makes common tasks such as indenting text, modifying paragraphs, and adding/removing bulleted lists worse than going to the dentist. The software defies all conventions when it comes to editing text. There are also small niggling things, like the fact that when one inserts a link, the fields in the sheet that appears cannot be tabbed through. The software also suffers from some poorly grouped functionality. Its not immediately clear where to add details such as shipping information and/or what information is being used. Duplicating an auction will copy shipping settings from the auction but this information will silently contradict the information shown in the inspector. This software provides an essential service for people who use eBay a lot, but it needs some serious work in terms of usability. (Version 5.3.5)

COBRA BLADE GarageSale may not be the cheapest software out there and this lead to me trying out whatever other options were available. But honestly GarageSale really is worth the money. It has become time to sell off my Sega Saturn collection and to make listing all that much easier I purchased GarageSale. I was expecting to really loose out with some of the crazy prices the rare Saturn games cost me when I got them from eBay just years before. But thanks to GarageSale and the amazing templates provided with it I have actually made a profit over what I originally paid! Heck after just one auction GarageSale had already paid for itself. My only regret is not getting GarageSale sooner. This software really is a must for anyone who wants to sell on eBay and even boast some of the best tech support I have ever seen with my emails getting replies within the same day I send them. SZQ I have used this software for a few years. The more complex it gets the slower it runs. My main complaint is changing of themes - it takes a long while to update - maybe our slow internet is to blame? The designs are beautiful, but new ones have been very slow to appear. I am a casual ebay seller, and like this program. I would have given it an extra star if changing themes was quicker. (Version 5.3.5)

NOEL O\'SULLIVAN This isn't a bad program and has a great selection of good-looking templates. The ability to paste in rich HTML to listings makes it very useful for creating good-looking listings. I am a casual eBay user, not a store owner, and so have only sold individual items. For new users this is confusing as the workflow always involves creating a Template, not a listing. Once you get past that there are issues: Switching between styles/layouts takes an excessive amount of time and locks up the mac for a while. All of the shipping types and payment types for my country (Australia) are only sort-of supported and if I haven't used the application for a while and list a new item, it will almost always be rejected because of some incompatible mix of attributes. In addition, I will almost always need to log into eBay and revise my item to set the shipping and payment options properly and set item-specific attributes. You can blame eBay's APIs for this (and I'm sure they're crap given the quality of the rest of eBay) but the reason to pay for a program is to make the experience of using eBay less irritating. The key attributes I would use to judge any listing software are: Does it make it easy for me to make a professional looking listing? - in GarageSale's case this is certainly true. Does it save me time so I can get back to doing more interesting things with my life? Sadly, in GarageSale's case I can't say it does. yes, my listings look better but they take me just as long (or longer because of the need to revise at the end) to get going. A good tool and I'm sure it would be of MUCH greater value if I was regularly selling similar items. For a casual user selling single items, you might be better off sticking with eBay's (now less awful than it used to be) user interface. (Version 5.3.4)

STUDIODAVE56 Well it would seem that, JAN13 does not know what leg he/she is standing on. You can not host your pictures on "your own server" and use "Ebay Picture Service" at the same time. "EPS" stores the pictures on it's own servers, that's how it works. GarageSale is a very good program for what it does. I would like a few more things from it and I see over time they are getting implemented. The support from GS developers I will say is the best I have ever had, they are the only developer that when I had trouble for a long time with a pesky issue and asked respectively, Ilja contacted me through ichat and we solved the problem. It was a very difficult problem to track down. So from Germany to the USA we talked and shared the screen. I see another of my long time hopes showing up in this program now. Thanks iwascoding for sticking with it.

Because the link on image siting on your server will become to be dead .... If this issue will be fixed the GarageSale 5.x or what ever version of it The GarageSale will be a UNDISPUTED CHAMPION with hands down in category of eBay selling software for Mac computer. Period ! JAN13 GarageSale from IWASCODING, appears to be a sophisticated application by its interface and relatively easy way of use ... It does not take much time to be completely familiar with operation futures of this application to do an easy workflow in submitting your auction files to eBay. To say all this, this comment I just made maybe in interest for those who are occasional user of eBay auctions. For those who mean a serious business selling on eBay, this application GarageSale has one MAJOR FLAW ... !!! Reason why is, that if you have your own eBay store where you pay 0.04US for submitting one item, then in GaraSale Inspector you have to use : / Use eBaySore / List as a Store Item / Choose your Category and then check EPS Option ... and HERE IS A PROBLEM !!! You can not use EPS option if you upload your IMAGE files to servers like ME.COM etc., to save your self money in thousands of $$$ ... since this EPS Option is unavailable !!! Your ONLY OPTION is to manually ad one image to every auction you have posted on eBay to be able to display these images in NEW ARRIVALS bar in your eBay store ... !!! Tedious and painful work which takes time, slow you down in workflow making your business unproductive ! We have contacted developer who turn on us in manners strange to North American attitude unveiling to resolve this flaw issue, he, developer has knowledge off ... !!! He developer of GarageSale, knows very well about this problem but he was trying to sweep us under carpet with a primitive excuse witch did have a lifespan of few minutes ... In contrast with US and Canadian software companies which provide an excellent technical support, this company IWASCODING appears as a JOKE !!! We are very disappointed with GarageSale c/o http://www.iwascoding.com/ and obviously we are definitely looking in to other option. This application GarageSale c/o http://www.iwascoding.com/ as it stand now IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS !!! (Version 5.2)

IWASCODING >You can not use EPS option if you upload your IMAGE files to servers like ME.COM >etc., to save your self money in thousands of $$$ ... since this EPS Option is >unavailable !!! Yes, you are completely right. And it makes completely sense to do it that way. 1. EPS stands for Ebay picture service, which costs you money. Therefore most people use their own server for image storage (or our free image hosting for non-store items). 2. If you use EPS, there are some additional options (like super size image), that will cost you an additional fee on top of the regular EPS free. Since you are free to use any size you want if you run your own server, there is need to offer EPS options if you are using your own server. Or are you just trolling? (Version 5.2)

XENOPHILE In contrast with US and Canadian software companies which provide an excellent technical support, this company IWASCODING appears as a JOKE !!! If you were this offensive with GarageSale's developer, no wonder he didn't want to help you. What on Earth does a developer's nationality have to do with software quality and customer service? I'll tell you what: nothing. U.S. and Canadian developers are unfortunately every bit as capable of delivering worthless support as their counterparts from the rest of the world. Next time you want help or sympathy, don't insult 85% of the world, and maybe you'll get a better response. FWIW my experience with iwascoding support has been as good as it gets. (Version 5.3b3)

JAN13 No IDEA (!!!) where this person writing comment on my reviews come to conclusion that I AM OFFENSIVE ... ???? To criticize insufficiencies in software and negative human response from developer of that particular software is OFFENSIVE ??? GarageSale is the most flexible, creative, user-friendly and dependable program out there. The team is friendly and responsible, and always open to suggestions and comments. There was a time when due to computer problems I had no choice but to use a competing online auction lister and it was such a nightmare. What a sigh of relief I breathed to return to GarageSale. Without hesitation I'd give the program and customer service five stars, and recommend it to all of us who love Mac for its innovative simplicity. Thanks, iwascoding guys!!! (Version 5.2b8)

OMGSHOPS What a great program. I have noticed others post a problem or two but I have not encountered a single problem like theirs. I am not saying they haven't encountered these issues but I am saying I don't see the same problems. Must be fixed. The key thing is the program is simply incredible and saves money on every auction. Basically its freeware because you save so much in such a little time. Your auctions look professional and you can even make your own templates so it has versatility. I could write so much about how good this has worked for me. The biggest thing for me is the speed I can list auctions. listed 26 separate auctions in a little over 2 hours. I could never do that at ebay and I saved over 50 cents to a dollar per auction. Its freeware now because I have listed almost 70 auctions now and the money saved would buy the program 2 times over. Get Garage Sale. If you have problems they will help you. Its such a huge deal for my store. Love it!!!! (Version 5.1.3)

&&&&&&&&&&&&& i've been foolish enough to pay for this app twice - once for version 3 and then again for the paid upgrade to 4 when i naively believed the developer's hype about improved speed and reliability. i'll not be buying garagesale again. that's for sure! it's true that using garagesale to post auctions is infinitely preferable to using ebay's interface - but in the same way that beating yourself over the head with a block of wood is infinitely preferable to beating yourself over the head with an iron bar. garagesale is teethgrindingly slow [i've not seen the spinning beachball this much since way back in the panther days!], it's infuriatingly unstable - you're guaranteed at least one crash during every session of useage. and the interface could serve as a model for the misuse of screen real estate and the heights of unintuitiveness. i wish someone would make a decent ebay uploader for mac. sadly, this is the best of the bunch and it's completely dire! JAYHAWKBABE A solution for keychain issue I mentioned below: After several emails with the developer, it became clear that the issue was with my keychain permissions. I tried to run Keychain First Aid from the Keychain Access program and was told that my keychain did not have the right permissions. On a hunch, I fired up the terminal and checked the permissions on the file ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain. The owner was set to root rather than my user name. This was easy to fix using chown. After that, Garage Sale worked just fine! I am still not sure how the permissions were changed. Perhaps the 10.5.4 update I installed yesterday? (Version 5.0.2)

JAYHAWKBABE Beware before updating from version 5.0.1 to 5.0.2. The latest version seems to have massively broken access to the OS X Keychain, which removes any authorized accounts and prevents them from being added back. It also produces multiple requests to access the Keychain every time the program is started. I tried redownloading and installing the program and reset all of my old preferences--nothing helps. I just emailed the developer last night, but need to get my hands on version 5.0.1 ASAP because I have auctions running and some finished ones I need to have. The last backup of the program I have is version 5.0.0 which was recently broken by an Ebay API change. The developer on has very old versions for download (3.5.something) from the website and not recent ones! Very frustrating! I guess I'll be hesitant to update without backing up the program in the future! (Version 5.0.2)

VIOLISA I think version 4.1 is a vast improvement. The program's design is sleeker, and the tools are more intuitive. I really like the "cover flow" option where you can browser through templates in preview mode. Another big advantage is the way you can choose photos directly from your iPhoto library. This alone saves several minutes of time per auction. More of Ebay's specialty options are supported, and the the text in the description is automatically converted to html. You can even view user messages about your auctions and reply to them within the program! My only caveat is that the version 4.1 has been a bit buggy. Sometimes the preview option will make the program unexpectedly quit. But, I've found restarting my computer clears this up and then the program works fine again, without any data loss. I've also had a little trouble with the font size on the uploaded auction appearing larger than the way it was shown when I was creating the template. But, that's easily remedied by simply tweaking the font size to be smaller on the template and using the "revise running auctions" option on the Template menu. You can even make changes on a batch of templates, then select them all and upload all the changes at once! Overall, I think this program is totally worth it for anyone who's got a lot of auctions to manage, and is computer saavy enough to find easy workarounds for minor issues like I described above. I like the program so much, I'm going to upgrade to version 5 today. (Version 5.0b2)

ABILSTEIN Buggy, buggy, buggy. I used v3 for a while and found it a bit unintuitive, but it worked. GarageSale 4, and the recent 4.1 are just buggy for me. Changing themes is slow and often crashes the application. Uploading auctions gives me multiple warnings and then the app tells me no warnings were encountered - which one is correct? Scheduling auctions didn't work - they simply didn't start. I tried iSale from Equinux and liked some aspects of it, but the designs are very unattractive. I considered buying it, but frankly the idea of throwing more money at an eBay app is just not appealing at this point. The one nice thing about GarageSale are the designs. But right now it just doesn't work for me. I'm going back to eBay's manual process for now... (Version 4.1)

KEN CHALK Today I downloaded and installed GarageSale 4.0 via their software update utility in Garage Sale 3.4. Unfortunately I over look that it was a paid update. Probably because in all my years working with software venders I've never come across an instance where a developer as used their software update utility to push a "pay-for-upgrade." Their tech support office recommended that I down grade to 3.4.3. This solution is unacceptable because it means that I'll loose all of my past work. COWBOYBOOTMAKER This utility may be approved but it does not properly place auctions or give you the compatible connection to various eBay shipping options. The creation of a simple ad to sell a sewing machine cannot be found on eBay by searching the brand name in the title and description, and when trying to place the ad, GarageSale would allow shipping settings that were not compatible with eBay's current shipping criteria. Error messages were vague. The utility is dog-tired-slow in text edits with it's low-res graphics offering the sluggish performance of Photoshop 6 and 80mb pre-press files in the late 1990s. On a system with only OSX 10.4.11 and browser software, the GarageSale application would hang-up unresponsively needing a force-quit and relaunch. All in all a waste of time and money I sent email for a refund and it has not be answered. (Version 4.0.6)

COWBOYBOOTMAKER I bought iSale and it's problems are similar to GarageSale except the European developers to this application are impossible to deal with when it comes to support. The iSale program needs constant uninstalling and reinstalling allowed on only one computer. This means you cannot use a desktop and laptop and check auctions at your convenience without uninstalling while online one computer and then going to the second computer with the new installation code and reinstalling. The company refused to honor their 30 day refusnd policy telling me to go back to the local computer store - which has a no returns on opened software. Hah! ZEALOT6 You know, I concur with everyone about this new and "improved" update. I have been using GarageSale pre-4.0 quite happily for at least several months. I downloaded the 4.0 trial out of curiosity and to possibly justify the cost. I was initially excited. However, the program was either VERY slow or just didn't operate at all. It takes forever to load the eBay preview and even upload auction pics to GarageSale servers. My previous version of this software has a slight lagtime, but it was eons more pronounced with this upgrade. After a few days, I simply gave up, took it off my computer, and re-downloaded the older version which is back to working the way I remembered it to. I simply can't recommend shelling out money for the upgrade, especially since the older free version is more responsive and appears to work just fine. (Version 4.0.5)

Yes I know no one is forcing me to upgrade but where are the links to the GarageSale 3.4 download on their website ? I wouldn't balk as much to this scheme if the developer had said that those who purchased Garagesale at 1.x or 2.x need to pay an upgrade fee instead of a time based license. (Version 4.0)

D9 You know, it's getting to a point now where I'm avoiding getting shareware or any program unless I see a great need for it. These paying upgrades are becoming too much the standard. I understand the need to pay for the developers efforts, but it seems a bit too redundant to justify me paying for. I've always stated that a developer has the right to charge whatever they want for their software, as we have the right to not buy it as such. JAN13 I am or better say I was happy, happy user of Garage-Sale till this moment when accidentally I have updated to latest version of this software. This new like iTunes selection pallet for templates is a huge draw back since it slow down this software in all aspects. Sure, it look nice, but this software is not for plying around, we consider this software as production tool to make money on eBay. The Old site bar with templates was quick, convenient and mostly productive. This new approach is at least ridicules. Please incorporate some option to this so we can move fast as it was in old times with previous version of this otherwise great software. (Version 3.3)

BEBDABHRHBRWEFG 3R§5Y5H4WTEDSFB this app is a great time-saver and it's improving with age, but it still refuses to sync properly with my ebay; under the 'auctions' tab it still lists dozens of my auctions as 'waiting for payment' - even tho' the items have been paid for weeks or months ago. no amount of re downloading auction states makes any difference. [also - another minor niggle. the design template manager always tells me there are new templates available and then when i choose to download them tells me that all my templates are already up-to-date]. MAIL_SPEED Just downloaded GarageSale 3.1.3, after realizing how terrible iSale can be. I love the ease of GarageSale, but recently encountered a problem, where I can only type my description in the editor, instead of simply clicking into the description area, and typing. I'll click into this area, and get nothing, no curser, etc.... If I type a bunch of mumbo jumbo, it'll show up when I open the "Edit Description" box. Not a biggie, but kind of a pain to float between two windows, when I know it's not necessary. I've created five auctions with no problem, this just started today. I'm Mac illiterate, so any help on where I went wrong would be appreciated! (Version 3.1.3)

SDALCORN I downlaoded and tried out this product using my own 'personal' account and it appeared to work fine. I uploaded 2 or 3 auctions without problem. The product is *supposed* to work with multiple eBay accounts. I then tried to upload an auction using my 'business' account and it failed. I've tried it literally hundreds of times. It will verify the item with eBay, it will then upload the image(s) and then try to upload the auction and it just stops there. You would think that everything has loaded fine. But if you look at the auction it has a little red triangle next to it and the auction has not been uploaded. There is no error message, no explanation, no log, no way of finding out WHAT is preventing this auction from uploading. I can go to eBay and list an auction manually on that account. After 5 days of CONSTANTLY emailing the developer and had no reply whatsoever, I have decided to place this post. Caveat Emptor evereybody! Looks like I have blown my cash on a product that is not going to do what I bought it for! :-( (Version 3.1.2)

| Apr 24 2007 |
I have already tried fetching a new token, but I did not delete the old one. I'll try that now. I finally got a reply from the developer. They said that it might be that my new account does not have an "eBay Fees" account setup. I've already setup one bank account and one credit card - so that is certainly not the problem. Frustrating, but I will keep at it, as it's so much easier than loading manually (when it works).

VGOKLANI 1. There is no way to determine the listing fees until after the auction is listed. 2. DONKEYOTAY I had a few issues with this software which were eventually addressed by the developer. Specifically, I requested the ability to start an auction at one penny. This was incorporated within a later release, not immediately, but within two or three beta releases. So I bought the software. Its ease of use is great. Typically "Mac". Very intuitive & clear. It allows me to construct loads of auctions without a problem. I like enough of the templates to not need to write my own. Duplicating auctions is a cinch. About the only problem I've had is in the "Scheduler". In that it didn't always load all the auctions in a particular event. I had a response to my email very quickly, but have yet to try out 2.4 on this. My work around was to only schedule one auction per event. I've checked out iSale and wasn't at all impressed. I'm very happy with GarageSale. Keep up the good work. (Version 2.4)

DOWNSINCE84 I tried out iSale 3.0.5 for about two weeks and was impressed. There were a few drawbacks and things it was missing (like ability to revise auctions within the application and smart communication with "My eBay" mainly for updating auction info), but it was a great relief from the tediousness of regular auction posting on eBay. But then I tried GarageSale and it blows away iSale. I just purchased it. Anyone who says it lacks customizability hasn't discovered the built-in Font and Color pallettes (standard OS X pallettes) and all the preferences in the menu and in the "Advanced" tabs. It has everything iSale has plus some great additional features such as checking boxes for "Invoice Sent, Payment Received, Item Shipped, and Feedback Given" to help you keep track if you're selling a lot of stuff; plus it has a great ability to sync with "My eBay". One thing that annoyed me about iSale was that it felt so separated from your actual "My eBay" info - GarageSale automatically downloaded all of my recent auction info and put it into a well organized, yet customizable list. That was awesome. All of this alone makes Garagesale, hands down, the better choice between the two. (I haven't tried any other Mac OS X eBay apps.) More noteworthy, the thing that initally prompted me to investigate something other than iSale was that iSale just recently stopped working - eBay has changed it's code policy to only accept "XML Unified Schema" (whatever that means), so it stopped iSale from working completely!! That is unacceptable on Equinox's part. I'm sure they'll deal with this problem asap, but they just lost one potential customer to Garagesale. Hopefully no bugs or crappy things arise, but so far it is a GREAT appplication and well worth $25. p.s. I only took the time to write this lengthy review because I want this company to keep developing this app - it sucks went an app gets ditched. Also, I can't comment on Support/Documentation since I haven't had to use any yet... (Version 2.1.1)

GUMBO Great software but watch out for this (v2.1): At the bottom of the Scheduler pane there is a "Delete Event" button. Well, there's more than meets the eye to this. If, while in the Scheduler pane, you've any templates selected in the Templates column - as you may well have if you've just dragged them into the Event field - then the Delete Event button behaves as a Delete Template button. When the button is clicked the confirmation dialog reports this, but one doesn't expect to confirm or deny an action different from the one initiated. If you proceed then the selected templates are history. Of course I'm too smart to lose a couple of hours work this way... (Version 2.1)

That's why it's free. Take a look at some of the other apps for Windows that do the same thing GarageSale does. You want to talk expensive? They charge $25 PER MONTH for their apps. This one is $24 ONE TIME. This is very INEXPENSIVE and does things that nothing else for the Mac can do. Ilja is one of the most responsive and helpful developers I have ever come across. BRANDON I've just 'killed off' my Windows addiction with the purchase of a PowerMac and PowerBook. Bye-bye old 600mhz Hewlett Packard... However, I find that as an eBay PowerLister, my Mac options are...ummm...limited. My old machine was too old / slow / lacking in memory to optimize TurboLister, but TurboLister gave me all the functionality I needed. Create folders, a WYSIWYG HTML editor, multiple listing uploads, delayed listing, storage of listed auctions, etc. I've spent the last several days looking for a good Mac replacement, and I've not found one. I sell almost exclusively on eBay Motors...which appears to further cull the limited Mac app choices.. I'd rather OWN good software vs rent it...but I'm currently debating between iLister and GarageSale. Neither are really what I'm looking for at this point. I'm strictly a seller...buying tools have no significance to me. From a seller standpoint (several hundred items a month), what's my best Mac option? I'd hate to just keep running TurboLister in a Virtual PC session. :/ (Version 1.6.1)

DBRIGHTWELL I've posted about 15 auctions with the 1.6b2 and it has worked like a charm. It's easy to use, the interface is intuitive, it's much faster than working on eBay. I have found it to be well worth the price. (Version 1.6)

GREGJSMITH It's a good start for sure. I like being able to get photos from iPhoto and post to .mac. The UI needs some polishing for sure. Only posted one auction with it and didn't have any problems. Wish it had a multi service shipping calculator like when making an auction via the website. (Version 1.4b2)

SEñOR MAC STORE @ EBAY The program works directly with eBay's APIs, and it won't ask you for passwords or other personal information. That gave me a sense of security. Seems very promising, but for now I will not be using this app because currently there is no way to add "Buy it now" listings at a fixed price. I imagine that once they implement that, the option of "Immediate Paypal Payment Required" will be added as well. I liked the "preview mode" and the program handled pretty well my hand written HTML code and CCS styling. The price seems reasonable and I Look forward to see more of this app in the future, congratulations to the developer. (Version 1.4b1)

ANDREAS MICHALAK Great app. Better and better User Interface and perfect usability , all information you need (pre upload ebay cost check). Garagesale has POLEPOSITION ! iSale, perhaps looks more iApp - BUT much less usability. Garagesale is a real timesaver ! Before Garagesale (i am an private saler) i didnt "uploaded" much, because i HATE browser put ins. Also friedly support (in german/engl.) (Version 1.4b1)

ANONYMOUS I've purchased GarageSale because it made a good impression on me when I first tried it out. I've now uploaded close to 100 auctions using this tool and I'm sure I've saved a significant amount of time by using it and not going through the process on the eBay website itself. BUT -- the program is really not very polished yet. I'm afraid I'll have to agree with an earlier post about the fact that all GarageSale users are practically beta testers. There are lot of small but annoying bugs and interface inconsistencies; support for countries other than the U.S. is incomplete and riddled with errors. It seems like the developer(s) just did not pay enough attention to details. I know that handling the eBay API is a pain in the ..., but hiding these problems from users is the main motivation for using (and buying) an app like this, isn't it? If you have about 100 auction templates, the app becomes unbearably slow; it frequently freezes for several seconds while CPU usage goes up to 100% during normal editing, and this is on a current generation G4 powerbook with ample RAM. I wish these problems would be fixed soon because I want to like this product; but at the moment it's a 50:50 split between »oh well, it does save time" and »argh, it's driving me nuts!« (Version 1.3.2)

EBAY-JEFF GarageSale is easy to use, but it is munging my HTML descriptions I have templated in TXT files. I can't simply drop it in from the clipboard. GarageSale does have "Calculated Shipping", which iSale does not have implimented yet. (Version 1.3.2)

SPAM ON TOAST sorry. i have to side with the "what's the point?" camp! on first opening up the app, i was quite impressed that i could set up various options such as selling category and postage & payment details without having to bother with ebay's slow, clunky interface. however garagesale really fell down when it came to entering the descriptions for my item. i wanted to make a template from my existing standard auction layout, so i pasted the code for that into the HTML panel of the 'edit description' window [the one that opens when you click the 'pencil' button beside the 'description' panel in the main window]. while my pasted in code displayed correctly in the preview panel of the 'edit description' window itself, when i closed this window, the description panel in the main app window remained stubbornly blank. when i typed into that main window 'description' panel and then opened the 'edit description' window again, all the HTML i'd entered previously had been deleted. it was also impossible to edit the layout in the 'preview' part of the 'edit description' window, so this left me with the choice of either pasting in completed ad laid out in HTML or building one from scratch in the main window 'description' pane. why does the HTML pane in the 'edit description' window not update the content of the 'description' pane in the main window?!!! as it stands, garagesale is just an extra step in the process of designing an auction, not a labour saving device. DORIAN INNES I first complained about not being able to use my own ftp account to upload images to and boom, it was placed in the newer versions and i instantly bought it. now ive got a few other suggestions that would really make things easier: 1 - when you schedule an auction to start, why doesnt it show the most current date and beyond only? i'm looking at a calendar view that would let me list an auction for last month. Its especially annoying if you duplicate a template that you used to schedule an auction last month, but when you go to schedule it, you have to navigate beyond the past date to a date you want to schedule. 2 - When an auction is posted and/or ended, why do i have to delete the auction template from the templates view as well as the auctions view (after the auction is over)? More time wasted just keeping the window tidy. There needs to be a preference to auto delete templates that are posted as auctions and auctions that have already ended. Maybe allow the user to define how many days they want the auctions to remain in the view before they're auto deleted? or maybe have categories for finished, pending and currrent auctions? That would make a lot more sense to me. 3 - one small thing, please implement drag and drop organizing for the auctions and templates lines. www.dorianinnes.com (Version 1.3.1)

NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME Unfortunately, GarageSale is a work-in-progress and essentially anyone who purchased it is a beat tester as pretty much witnessed by the Yahoo Groups they have setup for owners or potential owners. It does not work with eBay Motors (either do the others out there) and still has many quirks. It might eventually get to where it wants to go, but for now it still needs development. ANONYMOUS Basic and boring. Why waste your money when you can do the same thing through eBay? I see no real advantage of this application. All you need do is go through the eBay once or twice and you will not need to buy software like this because you'll understand the process. Why waste your money? (Version 1.3.1)

CECILIA This is a really useful tool for occasional ebay-sellers as I am. I just managed to offer 14 books on ebay in half an hour - compared to 10 min per book, which I needed before through ebays website, this is a real benefit. Although not every ebay-option can be accessed throughout GarageSale, it´s enough for my private auctions though. Integration with OS X works really fine, namely the picture service with iPhoto and the spell checker, and it´s intuitive to use. I think it´s worth every dollar for a stress-free selling experience, and I don´t regret having chosen this tool from the current alternatives. (Version 1.1)

EBAYER I'll have to say I'm disappointed, but there's definitely some promise in the future. The advantages of the software are that they can automate some of the tedious tasks involved with listing an auction on ebay. Unfortunately, you can't access all of ebay's options when listing an auction (like listing for international customers). The makers of the software should also divulge that when you list an auction, an ad for GarageSale appears at the bottom of the page. I don't have a problem with them doing it, it's a nice icon, but the point is that they should just come clean and say so. I listed an auction anyway, and it did fine, did a fast job on broadband. My choice of font didn't show up, don't know if that works. Don't let my review scare you away if you list simple auctions for US customers only. That's the advantage of GarageSale; it allows you to skip four pages of checking boxes on ebay. This could be very good software. It just needs: *Ability to format templates completely for an auction which includes all of ebay choices. *Ability to edit current auctions. *Ability to import photos from hosted websites. *Ability to schedule uploads at a certain time. MIKE B-C I agree with you entirely. Im enjoying using the programme which takes the slog out of the formatting within eBay, using their coding system. One has to do this to make a pretty advert page. As with you, my upset with Garagesale is the uncontrollablity of the type faces and their sizing. I feel sure that these minor problems will be ironed out in the near future. (Version 1.3.1)

DKI Pretty good so far, better than the competition for sure, but (like all the others) not good enough even over the actual ebay.com site itself to warrant the $24 price tag. here is what it would need in order for me to pay for it: -the ability to input my own images/addresses using my own hosting. -the ability to set a specific date and time for the auctions to start and still upload them whenever i want, rather then have to sit and wait for the exact moment i want to list and then send them along. - two different shipping input boxes: 1 for international, 1 for domestic. - maybe it needs to have a few pre-installed templates as well. So far the competition pales in comparison to the regular ebay site itself (which doesnt make sense, these apps should take the ebay site and blow it out of the water). I would only use this if i was on dial up or was well, unaware that ebay offers this and much more flexibility for free. the only advantage of this program over the actual website of ebay is that it lets you do a very select amount of the things from the website in one window and integrates with iphoto. PHOTO Now that I've learned more about ebay's procedure, I have no reason for objections with regard to ID security. I've given this fine utility a try and have since purchased it. It does a very fine job of listing and viewing ebay auctions and at a fair price.

ANONYMOUS I hate uninformed Comments by people like the one below. Perhaps the developers did a poor job originally of explaining it... but one DOES NOT share their eBay information with the developers, it's used to access eBay only. Much like putting in one's login/password into Mail to check your e-mail (Apple doesn't get sent this info, your ISP does). (Version 1.0)

PAUL GarageSale is a certified eBay client and uses the official eBay API. Therefore you need to authorize it on the eBay site and download an acces token. This token is saved in the users keychain and not transmitted to anyone else. (Version 1.0)
