LARRYMCJ After working just fine for several weeks, WeatherDock started showing erroneous icons and weather reports (e.g. 52 degrees and rain while outside it was 64 degrees and bright sun)...which was what the Weather Channel also reported. It's getting its info from the Weather Channel so not sure what's happening, but it's consistently wrong, so uninstalled for now. (Yes...it's configured for the correct city)

LARRYMCJ I'm a big fan of The Weather Channel, but don't care for their Dashboard Widget. I must be blind because in all my searches for the perfect weather app I've never run across WeatherDock...until now. Since it pull data from the Weather Channel I feel I'm getting the best of the weather information but in a much better and more configurable format. I'd give it a perfect rating if it could also grab the doppler radar info and the 10-day forecast instead of the 5-day forecast.

YOGI COACH As far as I can tell there's no way to delete presets if you're running in menu-only mode. You'll need to go to the Preferences, Display page and click the Show Dock Icon button. Then click the Dock icon to show the main window (assuming it isn't already visible) and then click on the Favourites button. To remove a preset simply select the location and click the minus ('-') button. You can also drag locations to reorder them. I hope this helps!

FREE_DEVELOPMENT I have used weather dock for years now, and love it. All of a sudden it has stopped appearing in my menu bar when I turn on my computer. After I click on the icon, it will reappear, but disappear shortly after that. Yes I do have the menu icon enabled, and the automatic open on login. I am using 10.5.6 as well on a new macBook

VRH I have used this application ever since WeatherPop stopped working for me, and as one other reviewer said, this is actually better in terms of features. What a great application! AETNARIA Terrific application. I'm a person that only wants a tiny icon in my menubar indicating the current temp and look, with a drop-down forecast ready at the click. This does exactly that. Don't like the (customizable) icon in the Dock? There's an option to take it off. Don't like the (customizable) image sitting on the desktop like something that escaped off of Dashboard? It's off by default, but available if you'd want it anyhow. This app does tons more, but if you don't want more it won't get in your way.

VERYCARLA This is a great little app, but there are two things I would like to see. First, a complete re-do of the preferences interface. It's a little clunky right now. Every time I update the app I have to tell it to hide the dock icon and every time I forget how to do that. I'm looking for a check box, but it's a button. Why is it a button when everything else is a check box? The other thing I would like to see is a new way to manage locations. I can't for the life of me figure out how to delete Twente from my list of favourites. I have nothing against Twente, but I don't live there and I will probably never go there. Perhaps the best thing to do is let the user decide the default location the first time he runs the application. Otherwise it's a fantastic little tool.

AETNARIA From the menubar item, select Open WeatherDock (or command-n). In the window that pops up, click the Favorites button. A drawer will slide out. Use the - button on it to remove Locations of noninterest.

MDOGNRDOG Wow. This is the best use of the dock's "eye candy" features EVER. One glance at the dock icon tells me current conditions, plus tomorrow's forecast (although it could tell me other things if I so desired). And a single click pops open the full rundown. Very, very nice.

F451 Mine went crazy too, but the developer is aware of the issue: Dear WeatherDock users, it has come to my attention that the format of the feeds delivered by weather.com and used by WeatherDock have been changed, causing some undesired behaviour in the WeatherDock application. DAVFAR Great software, it's the best weather reporting application out there. I have noticed that the second week of the 10-day forecast is not appearing, coming up with a "N/A" instead. I have confirmed this happens with both the 2.4.6 and 2.4.7 versions. Perhaps it's a problem with picking the data off of weather.com.

I was so happy when the wind reading was changed to show the direction the wind is blowing, and not the source. Now it's been changed back. Why? I've always hated meteorologists for saying "northwest wind" when the wind is blowing to the southeast. UMIJIN This has now replaced Meteorologist (Meteo) as my favorite menu-bar weather app. -The changing weather pop up is way cool. -The drop down menu is informative and easy to use. -It works OUTSIDE THE USA, even in Japan where I live. My only quibbles are that it doesn't seem to autoupdate, or have an option to select it as a startup item.

LUCLUV If at all possible, I would like to see the upcoming forecasts' conditions and temperatures linked in the menubar. As it is now, when selected, you get the three conditions, then the three temps at the end. For instance, right now it my upcoming forecasts read: "Flurries, Snow Shower, Snow Shower, 21, 31, 23" I would prefer it to read: "Flurries, 21, Snow Shower, 31, Snow Shower, 23". Which I find to be much less confusing.

NOXLADY RoadTripDK: You might have automated location change enabled. Under the Home/Work tab in the preferences, you can uncheck the box. Or alternatively, change the home and work locations to *your* home and work locations. VHR: On the main screen, there's a button that says "favorites". Click on it and a side drawer opens out with all of your favorite locations. Select one, and then click on the little "-" symbol. ANTSTERR Very nice app, nice icons and many many options! well, too many options actually. All I really want is the menu icons and forecasts, no dock, no desktop, no talking. Anyway, the only problem with it doing too much is that it does use a good chunk of ram with all the options turned on. Stripped down to just the menu bar and it's very nice. ANONYMOUS WeatherDock looks pretty promising so far. What I like most about it is that it puts just the information that I want in the menubar and I can turn off everything that I don't need or want. I mean you can even hide the icon in the dock to keep things uncluttered. It's already what I love in an application - useful simplicity. One suggestion to the developer is that I'd really like to be alerted of specific conditions in tomorrow's forecast. I ride a motorcycle to work every day and all I'm really interested in is if it's going to rain tomorrow or not. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who really only wants an alert when specific conditions are forcast in the near future. If it's going torain tomorrow, let me know; if not, cool - forget it. Ideally I'd get a popup window saying "rain tomorrow" and perhaps an icon in the menubar that changes color according to the chance of rain, or at least shows a numerical percentage.. something I can glance at occasionally to check the forecast and see that the app is still running. I'm pretty happy with the application so far. I'm really asking for a lot considering that it's a free application. I have checked out a couple other apps so far and there's nothing that is as useful as weatherdock free or otherwise. Thanks to the developer

More features than Meteorologist (I particularly like the large amount of customisation of the various displays and the ability to switch between work and home locations at predefined times) and also completely stable, unlike Meteorologist recently. It is amazing that people are still trying to write weather applications as shareware when there are two such impressive freeware ones! One very minor omission - it doesn't know about multiple monitors, so the Desktop icon can only be put on the primary desktop.

ANONYMOUS When Notifications->Speak weather report->On temperature change && On condition change turned on Speech->Location name && Current conditions && Later today turned on "... wind direction ..." where truly should be "Later today..."

ANONYMOUS Nice app! It does use twice the real memory that meteorologist and weathermenu if your stuck w pos G3's at work. It would also be nice to be able to kill the dock icon esp since the menubar and the desktop icon work so well.

PROFAD One is now forced to make an unpleasant choice: Will it be Meteorologist or WeatherDock? Both are excellant, both are free, and both are well presented! So, which one to leave on the MENUBAR? To stay politically correct, I will hereby claim to leave them both... As far as WeatherDock is concerned, however, here are two MENUBAR options which I would like to add to the wish list: 1. Radar Image (like Meteorologist), and 2. Speak Weather (not only on the dock).

ANONYMOUS Very good program but would like to see one more feature added and one bug fixed. Feature: Location name displayed in menubar. Bug: Degree sign (should be a small circle) rendered as "u" with a "^" on top.

COLIN MANSFIELD Excellent upgrade! Version 2 adds several useful features, and is customizable, to boot! An added plus is that wind speeds are now shown in mph instead of using the gale force scale, great for those if us in the US. Upgrading from v.1 was easy; it even started up from the old dock icon. Useful app, great price. | |

MICHAE This is fantastic! Nary a glitch, and perfectly reliable information (unlike certain other softwares who shall remain nameless). One feature that I'd like to suggest is the ability to switch locations from the Dock contextual menu. Otherwise, great job!

CRAZYIVAN I might be missing something here but if it's called Weather'Dock' why does it rely so much on a 'window' to show me details. The only thing I get in the dock is an icon showing the conditions and the temp. I get more info from the app window than I get from the dock. It's a good little app...just a bit misleading. Give me 'Meteorologist' in the dock - now that would rock!

ANONYMOUS This is awesome. Thanks a lot, this is the best weather app I've ever used for the Mac, and I prefer it in the dock (over the menubar), even though I thought I wouldn't. BTW- if you didn't notice, you can click on the forecast icons and get more details. This is really great, thanks a lot.

PATRICK The program works well, and the design is pretty slick. Very easy to use. Great alternative to other weather programs, and a good companion for weather.com. I found that the workday function doesn't switch automatically. Just some suggestions. I would have liked an option to just hear the "speech" utility used when I start the program. It would have been nice if there was an option to be placed onto the menubar too. Would be nice if there was an option for the window to be in front all the time. Also, maybe find a better way to minimize those sliding windows. But these are just cosmetic. The program remains great. Get it!
