UNCOY  Cog is great but stopped working on me.

Tried Vox, Taply and Play for substitute.

Vox and Taply had very high CPU usage in background when not running.

In the case of Taply, 5.4% on a Macbook Pro 2.5GHz. Just too much background resources.

Play is a bit ugly but uses .1% CPU in the background.

GARLICBREATH  Since I "upgraded" to the latest version of quicktime, Taply won't play files encoded with the Apple Lossless Codec. Can this be fixed?

LEO SPILL  Very useful tool to have around. Thanks to the developer for making it available at this very low price.

Now Apple has downgraded playing audio files within the Finder - The crimes of no time-line scrubber and no M3U both of which were very useful and much missed - make this application even more useful.

Thanks !

CASSIOTONES  Very good for listening without having to open iTunes and adding the song to your playlist. I just wish it had a "preferences" so that you could choose to let it opened all time or turn off the "be on top".

Great app ;)

MACBETH  ok... this is great. slick and clean and lovely. it does what it should in a a really unique way. the only things that would make this great app perfect would be to add a shuffle option.

other then that, lovely program. simple and elegant and innovative.

SATELLIO  Cool. Reminds me of SoundApp (MacOS 9) :-)

SoundApp had a very cool feature: "virtual" playlists: when you double-clicked a sound file in the Finder, SoudApp would begin playing it, of course... and then when you double-clicked other sound files in sequence in the Finder, SoundApp would add them to a virtual queue. After the first song finished playing, the next double-clicked song would begin, and so on... One could even navigate back and forth within this temporary "queue-playlist", using the keyboard arrow-keys. I liked that.

A contender for SoundApp and Taply? DropSound: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/16112

Gonna try them now (Taply and DS).

Still Missing 4 "the perfect little player":

1. volume slider

2. folder-support

- remember playlist/song/position...

- fade-in, fade-out ...

LANCE  A brilliant little application. Small, easy to operate and does what it says.

I use it regularly when I don't want to open iTunes, check out sound files or just make a quick play list.

Thumbs up to the developer.
