DREAMKATCHA  It seems to totally ignore any changes I make to the default DOSBox.Prefs file and doesn't recognise the 'conf' command when I try to remind the app where the config file is located.

After setting the frame skipping to 1 and increasing the CPU cycles I managed to run Command & Conquer at a reasonable speed on a Mac Mini 1.4ghz with 512mb RAM.

ANONYMOUS  Amazingly promising. Runs Ultima Underworld without a hitch. Only problems with hooking it up with more conventional memory, so can't play the sequel

ANONYMOUS   Works fine except for the characters. This just won't be the same as the keyboard. Example, when I type ":", it shows a ">". How can I solve that?

ANONYMOUS  It is fantastic and yet terribly slow.

How do I turn off sound? I've got a powerbook G4 and the sound here is worse than my Apple IIc.

I wish more info came with this program...

I hope there'll be an update...

I hope there'll be at least one menu option in the updated version...

Would be nice also, if you could click out of this window without having to cmd-tab all the time...(small thing)

ANONYMOUS  I tried to run the programme by double-click on the application. But nothing happens. I’ve got 10.3.6 and a Pismo G3 500MHz.

SKYHORSE  OK, I didn't realize at first that I needed Radnor to run on top of this: with it, I'm able to run my favorite DOS games after all...and they run on my 1GHz Emac with 750 megs of RAM with no noticeable slowdown in speed (they have motion and sound, but aren't FPS games, so speed isn't as critical). One of these games isn't the most stable going, but it ran with no glitches. I'm really pleased!

SKYHORSE  So far, basic DOS commands seem to work fine in it (I can't believe I remember them), but unfortunately it still won't run my two favorite DOS games. They were never ported to Mac or even Windows and aren't worth buying Virtual PC for even if I agreed with Microsoft's EULA, but it would be nice to have them again. I'll try Radnor and see if that helps....

ANONYMOUS  Actually... wasn't this released in February?

(checks homepage)

It lists the release date of DosBox 0.61 as "Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004."

ANONYMOUS  what a GREAT little app! it appears to run games with near perfect sound and video emulation MUCH better than virtual PC. somethings are a bit buggy, and doesnt run completely smoothly on some games, but its definately something to keep your eye on. good job!
