TANKKNIGHT When I got fed up with NUDC I tried several alternative and finally settled on Contactizer Pro. It has been working pretty well and I've gotten used to its quirks. I actually have no problem even to recommend Contactizer Pro. However, while I recommend the application and will keep using it I would strongly recommend that any time the app wants to update or MU shows an update to backup/copy your current version and in your library to backup/copy the application support folder. Its happened 3 times to me where the new/latest version will have some strange bugs and it has been extremely nice to just trash it and go back to the previous version. I don't know if it is my PPC Quad G5 showing it uniqueness (again) or that the support team for this app doesn't care, but they have never responded to any bug reports that I have submitted. So I just go to my backup and wait to try the next version. MU is showing version 3.7.5, but Contactizer Pro states that version 3.8.0 is available. It has several major problems on my Mac, so I filed the bug reports and dropped back to 3.7.5. As usual I haven't received a response, but than I don't expect one. (Version 3.7.5)

SAMPLER OS X 10.4.11 (fresh), PB G4, no import managers or application enhancers Import of a single Calendar with about 50-60 events for 14 months has stalled for over an hour while "saving database". Console shows a program "atos" inside the Contactizer has crashed with only the following in the crash log Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Symbolication.framework/Versions/A/Symbolication Referenced from: /Applications/Contactizer Pro.app/Contents/Resources/atos Too bad. I guess I'll terminate the process and uninstall Contactizer. And, no, I don't feel it necessary to write to support about an app that I registered but never had a chance to try. My only other comment is that I would have liked the ability to restrict the import of email and ical events by date. (Version 3.7.5)

PHALERON Contactizer (which I have been using since its debut) could always be more, so I will not rate it from a wish-list perspective. At the time I wanted to get Daylite, which I could not afford. CP came at my budget's borderline and I bought it thinking I was getting second best. Since then I have seen CP refine the interface and workflow and add features that could have well justified a version upgrade (or two). The app is extremely stable. I cannot remember it ever crashing on me, not even during a period of severe hard disk issues. It is the app that is always running in the background (though I recently discovered it does not need to), allowing me to stay on top of my business. The interface is comprehensible and relatively easy with a good depth of features. The custom email templates are great. Associating one client to another is easy. Everything is so easily accessible, emails, URLs, work files, related contacts, related tasks, etc. There are some weak areas like the ability to form custom client checklists and ratings, gant charts, sending batches of more than 20 mails, yellow page support for all EU countries, but I anticipate the next version will not disappoint. DENNY DOUBLEPLUS MARKETING This one is a love-hate relationship. The power of Contactizer Pro is VERY real. It has a lot of ins and outs for storing and accessing information. I recently used it's bulk email capability and was completely impressed! My major concern is however, how difficult it is to move around this program. The GUI (graphic user interface) is a bear to work with. Buttons just don't seem to be in the right place, and the icons are completely indeterminable as to their intended function. It's better than a Windows app, but it just hasn't move to the Mac standards. Some spit and polish on the GUI would help this one rise a star or two. (Version 3.7.2)

SCOTT.GARDNER Contactizer Pro is easy to overlook because their site lacks depth of tangible product info. However, do not pass this one by! CP provides an extraordinary feature set and a streamlined user interface--you don't need all the pop-up windows they show in the screenshots, as there are comprehensive right click menus and keyboard shortcuts. The number of clicks that it takes to get things done is significantly less in CP than any other CRM software I've used. For example, email integration is automatic after setup. Another example: to edit a card (contact, appointment, etc.), just double-click on any white space. To save those changes, double-click again. This level of intuitiveness surpasses even that of OS X Leopard, and is truly groundbreaking. There is no user guide or training videos yet, although my understanding is that they're working on this. Despite the lack of these resources, I was able to get up and running very quickly, digging deep into the extensive functionality. This is a real credit to CP's intuitiveness. I have not yet thoroughly tested network sharing, nor the email- and letter-merge capabilities. They look easy to configure and use, and robust like the rest of the application. More to come as I explore this functionality further... (Version 3.7.1)

BUMBLEB Daylite has more sales-related features, but Contactizer can really be customized, to suit your needs. I use categories, custom fields and different process workflows to make the Projects module in Contactizer behave like Daylite, with its Opportunities module. Contactizer has a much sweeter interface than Daylite. Means a lot to me, because I don't feel overwhelmed, but happy and inspired. Contactizer also has the ability to send newsletters / maintain mailing list, with each mail being sent separately (so it's not bounced as spam) with merge keys, so each mail is personal. And it works wonderfully. So, from the price, you can subtract whatever you'd otherwise pay for mailing list software. There are so many hidden features. Many users cry for a manual. Personally I think it is relatively easy to figure out myself. It's just not cookie-cutter easy. If it was, it would not fit the various workflows of different small businesses. What can be improved? Multi-user features / sharing / syncing. I look so much forward to the improvements to the sync features that the developers are hard at work, improving upon. Basically they are moving away from Apple's buggy Sync Services technology to Apple's new Calendar Store (I believe it's called something like that) which makes sync much more reliable and effortless. If I remember rightly, you need to go to the CP store window, rather than the license manager window. (I went to the license manager window a couple of time, and it just says "License has been sent for this registration number" or some such. When you get to the CP store, use the "contact us" button, or equivalent and shoot them off a mail from there. With me, they did reply almost instantly, so hopefully it should be the same for you. As an end note, I only THINK that this is the way I did it - I got so annoyed with the registration process and tried many times to get the problem solved (even if it was of my own making) so there is a chance that I've mixed things up. For your sake, I hope not. (Version 3.6.7)

DYNAMITEJET OK, I have received mails from CP giving me the license now. It seems that I did indeed type my email address incorrectly, and wish to offer apologies for my earlier comment, even if I do not believe them to be derogatory. It would be nice for CP to not have such a convoluted registration system, on the other hand. With regards the app, I must say, and state again, that I purchased this bundle just on the merits of CP alone, and I am very pleased with the app. If you are having problems with the license being sent (or not), please check the mail address you furnished was the right one, with no typos. The developer did send me the license to the right address almost instantly, once I had contacted customer support. I do however uphold my earlier comments and do not believe them to be in any way unfair. Having been surprised by the developer's comment about incorrect email addresses (one normally pays attention to email addresses one types when purchasing applications), and having since admitted my mistake, (both here and in a mail to the developer) I did offer advice on double checking everything with the developer, which I believe fair comment and possible help for others experiencing similar problems, be them self-created or no. (Quote: Worth checking out if the same has happened to you.) Hope that clears things up. And good luck with the app - it is quite fabulous. I am a huge fan. (Version 3.6.7)

DYNAMITEJET Further to some comments on this page. I bought the Promo on the 4th Sept... it is now the 12th and I STILL have no key. I try to access the help on the app developers page, and send off for the key, but the page is telling me it does not recognise my mail address (the one I used to purchase through the macupdate site) Have just sent a mail to the developer to try to get the key... but seriously... A WEEK SO FAR AND NO KEY? Especially as I bought the bundle primarily for this app. UPDATE: as I wrote this, I have received a mail from the developer, telling me that the reason I have had no key so far is that I typed my email address incorrectly. Perhaps, but all the other apps came through OK from macpromo, and my emails are usually autofilled by my mac... Worth checking out if the same has happened to you. The key is through now, and I will be testing the app fully - hopefully!!! (Version 3.6.7)

RICHCASTILLO STOP! If you are considering purchasing the MacUpdate promo to get this program. There seems to be a problem getting the license files emailed out. I followed the procedure to the letter and did not receive the license file and it has been over 24 hrs. First of all, I object to the concept of a license file, almost as much as I hate Adobe's activation system. There was no mention of this on the developer's website. It was a nasty surprise when I plugged in my newly purchased serial number and received a message that I will be emailed a license file. It is especially frustrating because I first demoed the app some time ago and I can't run it at all now because it has expired. I tried entering the serial number again and received a curt message that the license key had already been emailed to me. Oh, and of course I know to check my junk mail filter. I found a lost key form on the developer's website and submitted but the key was not immediately mailed to me. Do they actually have to have a human process these requests. That is just not acceptable in this day and age. So many developers now provide you with your license immediately after purchase that those of you who don't will fail to be competitive. I'm almost upset enough to onestar you. However, I will wait and do a real review if I get my license. Note that a few onestars will really hurt future sales. I purchase weekly on MacUpdate and weigh user ratings very heavily. I suspect that is true of others. Objective Decision, please get your act together because this looks like a sweet program (if I ever get my license). (Version 3.6.7)

STECCHINO After only a couple of weeks of using CP, I've purchased it. It has some shortcomings but it is, in my opinion, the best CRM/PIM product for Mac OS X. I recommend you try before you buy. Use it the full 30 day trial and see if it's great features outweigh any shortcomings for YOUR particular business purpose. Overall, it's got a true Mac application feel and intuitive interface. It's not currently networkable (you can share events and tasks but not contacts)--there is no client/server version at this point. Documentation is somewhat light and you'll need to utilize the support forums for some questions. Developers are pretty active on the forums, however. As of this writing, devs are coming out with 3.6 which will supposedly feature a "Day Board" and some shortcut keys to quickly add tasks and make it more GTD-friendly for helping to get those tasks "out of your head and somewhere safe" as David Allen would say. Sneak peek of 3.6 features HERE: http://www.objective-decision.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=647 (Version 3.5.7)

AKROBAT After my review last year I had another go at this app. I actually use both Contactizer and SOHO. I use SOHO for the calendar function, the notes feature and it's easy networking accross computers. I use Contactizer for it's address book function, GTD feature and profect managment. That being said Contactizer is actually a very good app indeed, well laid out, easy to use, stable, intuitive. Great GTD manager etc. It's just a shame you can only sync via .Mac. If you have no .Mac account you're screwed. I don't know why they insist on doing that. I'll give it 4 stars because it deserves it. Like SOHO it gets most things perfect and falls short of a couple of important ones. SOHO's shortcomings are a decent GTD and Contacts manager plus it's incessant crashing. Contactizer needs to use the OpenBase DB system and could use a notebook system built in. All in all it's pretty good. (Version 3.5.7)

PINESAP I first tried Contactizer Pro version 3.1 in January 07, but quickly switched back to DayLite because of: 1.) the lack of support for Projects, and 2.) the difficulty globally accessing data (events, tasks, contacts, etc). With version 3.5.5, a very sophisticated "Projects" module, and extremely easy access to all information modules (via the new Data Picker and Category huds) has been added. The combination of these two additions, the existing support for multiple category tagging, along with the tight integration with Apple's Address Book and Apple Mail, and a GORGEOUS interface makes this program, probably, the best PIM/CRIM for the MAC - and certainly the most pleasant to use on a daily basis. Two Thumbs UP!! (Version 3.5.5)

ANON BUD Well, I've tried this app again as my iCal is acting up and I really would like to have an integrated Contact Management/Calendar/Project application. I would dearly love to love this app. I've found I can get over the non-synching with all my iCal calendars, but editing contact information is a nightmare. I lost several contacts simply by trying to change the category of the contact. And since this synchs with Address Book, those contacts were also removed from AB. Thank goodness that I make regular backups every few days. Contactizer Pro is better than Soho Organizer and Daylite, IMHO. Now Up-to-Date/Contact is too old fashioned and the promised new version has been in the works for over a year. Entourage beats them all hands down (it really is quite excellent), but I just do not want to go back to that as I am trying to get away from using any Micro$oft products for good. ANON BUD It's been a while since taking a look at this app and I am very impressed with it, especially the ability to link various elements with contacts. Two reasons, though, why I will not purchase this: 1) Does not sync with my different iCal calendars. It will only sync with iCal by creating a new Contactizer Calendar. This is not good for me as I rely on different calendars in my daily workflow. This is just a must have for me! 2) Does not render HTML in mail messages. With all the drawbacks of CRM4Mac, it at least renders HTML. I would just love to use this every day, but the above are deal breakers for me. (Version 3.1.4)

OBJECTIVE DECISION Contactizer has a different paradigm: There is only one calendar, but of course it can be organized to be split in several categories. We think it is much more convenient since an event can then be attached to more than one category (and appears as if it was in several calendars)! As for HTML email, yes we don't render them since Mail does that its own way (not the standard way). Of course there is a button to open the email in Mail. (Version 3.1.4)

AKROBAT Basically a gloryfied iCal... however it is well done. I use Daylite as I find it till now the best, but this application would be my second choice over the rest of the PIMS. Some nice features that Daylite could learn from such as week numbers and the floating day view preview when in the month view. I would like to see auto sync if you have the same app on different machines such as in Daylite, so that joining your network automatically keeps both machines in sync. Some more user defined choices in the UI (customize toolbar etc) would be nice. I'll keep an eye on this for the next year or so. (Version 3.1.4)

I've got no idea what goes on - I can access the rest of the web without a problem. I'll just have to resign myself to not having CP. (Version 3.1.4)

I have submitted this on the O_D forums...let's see if we can track down why you are having problems. Again...I use their forums/website every day, and the app is the closest thing I can find to their windows counterparts that works like it is supposed to for a CRM on the Mac. It is about to get even better with a new upcoming release...and they have a sale going on right now too.. Let's see if I can get some assistance in helping you! (Version 3.1.4)

BASHOSFROG Thanks, figman. I'm a journalist with hundreds of contacts to manage, so I'd like CP onboard to help. Anything you can come up with ... (Version 3.1.4)

FIGMAN4 I'll let you know... By the way I just downloaded Omniweb and went to the site (just in case)...it worked just fine..so there may be some bizarre internal setting causing an issue...do you know anyone else that you could try it on their computer? It would be nice to welcome you to our community...so...let's try this...here is the link to the forums for CP..let's see if going to a different page works better for you. http://www.objective-decision.com/forum/ (Version 3.1.4)

BASHOSFROG Same result. Anything to do with that site is no-go, it seems. (Version 3.1.4)
| Jul 26 2007 |
FIGMAN4 Hopefully you are not tired of me trying to help yet...If you google your error it comes up with an Omniweb forum link...I followed those to this possible solution.. Go to Applications > Utilities: Open Keychain Access Keychain Access > Preferences: 'Certificates' Check - 'Online Certificate Status Protocol' (OCSP): OFF Also check in Keychain Access the keychain 'X509Anchors' for any Certificates with a Red Cross beside them ...... highlight these and delete them (they are invalid). If you are willing this might help out...just keep the instructions in case you need to reverse this process. It seems to be a known bug in some systems. (Version 3.1.4)
| Jul 26 2007 |
BASHOSFROG The help is appreciated. I did as advised in the Keychain - no luck. I fiddled with turning the firewall on and off - no luck. I tried Opera - etc. I'm just about to give the machine a workover with Onyx (although I already use Applejack fairly frequently). It might be an issue that can only be dealt with from the objective-decision website, as in the admin looks at why this particular machine is blocked. (Version 3.1.4)
| Jul 26 2007 |
BASHOSFROG ... and tried a major cleanup with Onyx, with no result. Also tried accessing the Objective Decision servers via the "Purchase" menu in CP, and timed out again. I'm not sure what there is left to do. (Version 3.1.4)

FIGMAN4 The english is a bit broken, so the intent (translation) was to say that they believe your isp is banning their website for some unknown reason. You have not been blocked on their side --I have not given up yet-- (Version 3.1.4)

BASHOSFROG Ha! Got onto the site via a wireless LAN I'm testing, bought CP, and am up and running. But I still can't access the site from my usual modem. Have emailed the ISP to see what's going on. Thanks for all your help, figman. Objective Decision owes you a free licence ... (Version 3.1.4)
| Aug 7 2007 |
BASHOSFROG Just got a response from my ISP. Hope Objective-Decision can use this to address the issue - it seems that I may not be the only one. Might want to pass this information to your web designer too. I'm actually having trouble using it from a number of locations, some places work and some don't. What seems has happened is that it's got a block on a range of IP addresses. Seems to stop at a Lunar Webpages server, and after that you can't get past it. It's usually very unlikely that Website/Web host would block a range of IP addresses as there's no point to it, unless they are trying to stop spammers/hackers, but in this case The other thing is if this site recently had it's DNS updated, some ISP's may have trouble getting the site for up to 48 hours while the DNS is propagating around the world. Finally, I've checked into blocked sites/IP's from our end and found no block going to this site.

BOBBBY I am having the same problem with the Objective-decision site. I have been scratching my head for the past week trying to figure out what might be happening. If the developer reads, could you let me know if there is a fix for this issue?
| Sep 11 2008 |
OBJECTIVE DECISION Objective Decision (objective-decision.com) is banned for no reason by Australian and New Zealand's ISPs. We currently do not know why but something like 10 to 20 australians customers can't access anything from objective-decision except probably emails. We are investigating the problem, but honestly Internet is so huge, the problem is so "above us" that we can't fix the problem ourself. Our site host has opened an issue and we are waiting for a solution. (This is complete madness :) ) (Version 3.6.7)
| Sep 11 2008 |
BOBBBY Thanks for your swift reply. Guess you can add Hong Kong to that list. Checked with friends and some can access your site and some cannot. From above postings, sounds like you might want to consider hosting your domain with a different provider. Hope it works out for you guys. (Version 3.6.7)

SUNBEAM I've been using this program on/off for two years but have been unable to make it my primary PIM for reasons I will state here. First, however, I'd like to point out that despite my criticism, I LOVE the program and I find the developer to be friendly, responsive (mostly) and deeply concerned about the product. I also think Contactizer wins my personal award as the best designed Cocoa program on OS X. I depend on a constant flow of tasks (with alarms) to manage my business. I like to be able to think of a task, quickly go to my computer (or Palm) to jot it down then move back to what I was doing. My biggest problem with Contactizer is that entry of any data types (tasks, contacts or calendar items) is far too tedious and rigid. One either must enter data the developer's way or there is no alternative. Unfortunately, the current method for entering new items is very restrictive and requires far too many mouse clicks. For example, to create a task I need to navigate to the task module, then select either a tiny "plus" button or use a keyboard command. There is no way to create a task while using other parts of the program. There is no way to create a task using a context sensitive menu or by double-clicking on a date, for example. Amazingly, the keyboard command to create a task doesn't work in any other part of the program EXCEPT the task module. Once I go through all the steps to open a new task window, it opens in the lower left of my screen, never remembering it's previous position. The window should simply open in the dead center of the screen as Apple's HUG's suggest. Because of my large screen, I'm forced to make yet another mouse click to bring the edit window into a comfortable working view for me. Now, I've got the edit window in view but several things don't work as elegantly as they should. If I want to choose a date for the item with the pop-up date widget it won't automatically disappear when I select a date (or move my mouse away) it requires yet another click to go away. Setting alarms is perhaps the most frustrating part of making a task. I now need to click on yet another item to make alarms show up. That's not so bad but the program gives me a blank window where I need to click YET AGAIN to create an alarm! Great, two additional clicks just to be able to set the alarm. Now the alarm I created is EMPTY and isn't populated with the due date I already set. So I need to deal with another pop-up date window to set the alarm to match the due date of the item I just created. But wait, the pop-up date selector in the alarm panel has a bug that forces me to click 2x just to make it go away! Now I'm wanting to set a time for the alarm. I SHOULD be able to tab from the date field to the time field and use my arrow and tab keys to set the time for the alarm. Virtually all other pims work this way. In Entourage, I can set a time and date for any item using only my arrow and tab keys. In Contactizer, the date fields are a mess and don't work as they should. I'm forced to grab my mouse to select the hour text, move to the keyboard, put in a time, now back to the mouse to select the minutes; back to the keyboard to enter a minute selection now back to the mouse to select the AM/PM setting and then FINALLY I'm done creating my task. So, this is why I cannot use Contactizer as my regular PIM. If I were just entering an occasional item and didn't use alarms I wouldn't care, but for hard-core professional use the interface is far too difficult and tedious to use for serious work. I did a little comparison with Entourage for ease of use when it comes to making a task with an alarm set two days in the future done the way I would normally do it. Here are the results: -Entourage was able to create the task in 5 mouse clicks when starting with the Contact pane of Entourage showing. -Contactizer took 18 CLICKS of the mouse to create the SAME TASK with the same alarm starting in the Contact pane of Contactizer!!!! Here are my suggestions for the developer: - make edit windows either open in the dead-center of the screen or have them remember where the user wants them - make all date/time entry fields the same throughout the program and refine them so they can be used exclusively with the up/down/left/right arrow keys. Just like Entourage which has perfect time entry fields. - Make the alarm fields pre-populated with the dates selected for the task item. Don't force the user to enter the same dates twice for the same task! - Give users many more options for creating items. How about a menu bar item; double-clicking on a date in the calendar to generate an item; a context sensitive menu item; a dock icon menu. There are SO MANY ways I could think of to offer choices for the user but Contactizer offers absolutely no alternative ways to generate new items. I have a few other quibbles with the program and I emailed the developer some of these requests/suggestions about two updates ago. My suggestions were well recieved and hopefully they will incorporate my suggestions into the program and make it more comfortable for heavy-duty use. Until then I'm stuck with Entourage. BTW, I also find the limitation of iCal syncing to be a deal-breaker when using my Palm. What use is it to dump all my data into a generic iCal calendar? If it doesn't sync my categories it's useless to me. Over time I've discovered that Apple's syncing technology is no more than a useless marketing gimmick. I wish Contactizer would write a proper Palm conduit like Entourage and Daylite have but I'm not going to hold my breath. (Version 3.1.4)

FREQUENCY I've had a quick look at this application and must admit I'm quite impressed. It has a smooth intuitive UI and clear functionality. Screen area is maximised for your data and it's very mac-like. Window switching can be a bit sluggish at times. The developers are obviously looking to steal some markket share from Daylite but IMHO there are a couple of hings they need to do to seriously put a dent in Daylite's lead. 1) Some kind of support for projects. May be as simple as allowing tasks to be grouped in project folders. 2) The price. Even if the price is reduced by 20 or 30 bucks the perceived value will be greater. It will be a no-brainer to buy Contactizer if it was $85. Pricing it above $100 puts it in the same space as Daylite which still has far more features. (Version 3.1)

JT_XIII This app has a splendid UI, well thought-out. The major flaw (and deal-killer in my case) is the inability to sync the calendar through the sync service. A quick google search showed the programmers were quite sensitive about this and not very likely to provide with a quick solution. If you can live without syncing it's probably worth a try. If not, the wonderful experience will become frustrating after entering your first appointment. Too bad, I was about to actually pay for software. (Version 3.0.2)

BARDO OD4 Contact is the best of the bunch. As a prior beta-tester for several PC-based CRM products with a database with roughly 5,000 business and personal contacts that are both companies and individuals, I can say that this is the best program out there for the Mac. I've tried Outlook, which tries to be all things and is mediocre at most. I've tried Daylite, which seemed to have the answer, but was not user friendly enough. I've tried CRM4Mac, which didn't work for me either. And I've tried Now Contact and Now Up-to-Date which were close, but a bit awkward to use and not robust enough to allow for multiple contacts tied to a single company. And Address Book, well... it's just an address book. OD4 Contact has a great interface. It's easy to use and pleasant to look at. Its engine uses the Address Book database that is native to Macs, so the interface with other apps that tap into Address Book is seamless. The Lookup and Mapping features in OD4 Contact are a thoughtful addition, and the data is kept in a very organized fashion. The developers are incredibly responsive, and are responding to requests in subsequent releases. I have put the trust of myslef and my company into OD4 Contact and believe that the company and developers will follow suit by continuing to provide their users with a superior product. In all fairness, there are still some features that need to be added, like email logging, call disposition, along with some drag-drop functionality for adding phone numbers from one contact to another, but I think they'll be smart enough to add these and additional user documentation to a future major release. I highly recommend giving the product a thorough shot via their freee fully functional 30-day trial. (Version 2.6.5)

(Version 2.6)

ELFER Bought 2.0. Since then, i have had more bad than good experiences. 1st, bluetooth does not work for me. repeated emails to support go unanswered. There is "zero" documentation. You are on your own if you can't figure something out. Second, since 2.1 the app constantly crashes in the comm center module. iCal integration is a MUST for the next release, otherwise it's useless. Mail integratin is buggy (crashes) and not being able to see the body of the email renders it pretty useless. This product feels more like a beta software, it's not polished and solid. Not sure if it's that much better (and integrated) than MS Entourage with the Project Center.

Developpers are listening to user's comments and suggestions, responding fast to bugs and problems. ANONYMOUS I was really looking forward to trying this program. The developer homepage looks great. Gragged it to Applications as instructed. Launched the app and then it just hung up. Tried it on a brand new 20" imac G5 with all permissions correct. This thing crashed my system !!! Had to switch the mac off which I hate doing as I couldn't even do a force quit or open any other application. Restarted the mac and tried to launch it again. Same thing happened. This thing crashed my system again and the startup screen showed I had lost one day from the 31 days you're allowed for the test period. Severely dissapointed as I really wanted to try this program. If the Developers are reading this, I am running a 1.8 G5 imac with Mac OS X 10.3.7 with 2 GB ram. Please fix this problem as I would like to try your program. I'm going to be harsh with my ratings because I can't even try the program and it crashed a near uncrashable system TWICE ! Am giving 3 for features beacause I believe it does have good features but don't really know because I can't try it. (Version 2.0.3)

ANONYMOUS It looked promising. I was excited about the interface and System integration, but it just doesn't seem to do what Daylite does - even if Daylite is uglier and some of the information can get buried in many, many tabs. I'm having a tough time deciding. I'm a freelance designer, so I don't need much of the big features of Daylite, but many of the features of OD4 are missing or didn't work. Here's a few: -Scheduled commmunication didn't show on the mini calandar, only tasks. -I miss having a real calendar. -No way to specify projects. -The print deposit would be nice if it did merged letters, envelopes, labels - or anything of use, for that matter, it only does a contact list, which is what I'm trying to avoid having by using this program, right? -The price was right at about $30-$40, but it seems to be spiraling upward. Ultimately it falls short. (Version 2.0.3)

ANONYMOUS A lot of what I was looking for... contact manager that USES THE ADDRESS BOOK DATABASE (Must have for me, as it works with iSync), and can serve as a "to do" list which can link "to dos" with contacts. Apple's Address Book is a bit "lightweight" for me, and OD4Contact's UI is a lot nicer. I'd like a tighter integrated with iCal (and maybe Mail) as well -- sorta like CRM4Mac does it, but with a prettier interface. But so far very nice. Giving it 4's across the board because it's not yet feature complete (for my needs). Getting close, but hey at 1.1.2 there's plenty of time to add this stuff. I've also used Daylite but its interface frustrates the hell out of me, and the thing that bugs me MOST is that its synchronization with Address Book is awful. I'd done a complete database drop, and when I "sync" with Address Book (I don't want to do this, I want Address Book info to completely overwrite Daylite's the first time), it munges all my AB contacts, which means I lose contact data which stinks. Sure, I can restore from backup, but the fact that it pooches this process really bothers me. Daylite's UI is horribly confusing to me, and while I want to like it, it's too buggy and messy. OD4Contact is really "right sized". They're motivated to add some nice features, where Address Book seems not to be. (Version 1.1.2)

HANS I am always looking into apps like these. For my own company I have checked many CRM or CRM like products. At the moment we are using a web-based Windows CRM product (I am the only one with a Mac). I am personally using Daylite and I think this is a great app, but I also need a faster slimmer daily app to work with persons and addresses. That is why I bought OD4Contact the day after I dl it. That was version 1.0. I liked the concept very much, although there was and is a lot to desire. Especially the very clean interface was a pro. That is e.g. a problem in many apps. Now with version 1.1 they made a big step. I am now wondering what it evantually will be. So much changed from 1.0 to 1.1, much more functionallity, especially adding documents and reminders are neat and I can not do without. - sending e-mail to individuals / groups - being able to add several people to tasks - adding attachments (start of a complete project based approach?) What I am missing for now? - being able to add mail from Mail or Entourage to people / groups - being able to import events from iCal (You can already import Tasks, why not Events?) If so it could even be able to compete with the Project center from Entourage .... I understand that it is all a matter of opinion if you want an app like this. I don't think complaining about prices is an issue, you like it or you don't. I think the development seems to go in the right direction (at least for me that is) and can recommend it to at least give it a try. I am using it now as my default address book and are very happy with 1.1 for now :-). Maybe the developers could give a glimpse of the near future with some sort of roadmap? (Version 1.1)

WATERFALL I'm one of those that received a license code but it did not work. I contacted the developer who requested that I send a copy of my MU promo receipt and said that he would try the code himself. I never heard from him again. I emailed MU 3 times and never received a reply. I've purchased quite a few good programs on the MU promos and not had any problems - but this one was an exception. And with the non-response from MU - they actually deleted a previous post concerning this matter - similar to this one (so, you may never see this one) and the economic slowdown my participation in MU promos may not a thing of the past. With slow times, it could make for some great deals, though!
