ZO219  There is nothing like the Devon products. In the years they've been out, nothing's even approached them. They are constantly under active development by a terrific team of people.

I can't explain it well .... the range of features, the capabilities of the apps themselves ... but you can try them and see for yourself!

ANONYMOUS  DevonNote 1.7 generally works well (new features are nice), but seems to have something of a bug -- freezes after folders/files are deleted, and deletes only show up after quit-and-reopen.

ANONYMOUS  According to Devon's Forum for DevonNote, Version 1.7 requires Panther for proper working; then why did its download notice on MacUpdate indicate that OSX 10.2.7 is fine with it?

SCOTT  This is an excellent product. I originally used Sticky Brain, but the recent update left me looking for a better application. I've found DEVONnote to be a perfect replacement. The transition, though not automatic, was fairly simple for my small archive.

It's flexible trial period gave me more then enough time to realize it was worth the purchase price. I find myself using it a few times a day. It's folder structure makes it simple to categorize my notes, while it's quick search makes it easy enough for me to find things when I don't have time to sort.

There are a ton of features and the with this recent update, the developers seem committed to making this product even better.

MRANDRE  It's too bad this came out after DevonThink, which I bought, because DevonThink has many features I don't use at all. I mainly use it to organize text snippets for my writing, nothing fancy, and that's just exactly what DevonNote does. I might buy it just to salute the tailored fit. That and the VASTLY superior icon. Yes, I am that picky.

MRANDRE  Just thought I would note that I did go ahead and buy the program. This is a lean application that is nothing more than it needs to be. There are a lot of goofy interfaces for this sort of application. DEVONnote gets it just right.

NCIANCA  I mostly use the regular DevonThink application. DevonNote is a "lightweight" version of DT. Like DT it is a well written application that is suitable for many users who need a simpler scrapbook manager type program. I do feel bad for all the developers of the low-end scrapbook management/notepad type programs because the King (jr) has just moved into their turf.
