ANONYMOUS  i upgraded from 1.1 to 1.5 and now I get this weird french error, and I tried (after translating) all the things it recommended and it still doesn't work... I'm hoping I can find version 1.1 to go back to!

ANONYMOUS  Super program. After trying all the various Mac donkey clients out there, this is what ultimately allowed me to set everything up the way i wanted it, with protected remote access and evthing. Very cool, very simple.

ANONYMOUS  I do not want to sound negative among all those praises, but on my ibook the application unexpectedly quits after 30-40 minutes or the window stays completely blank when it has been hidden and must come back to the front. I won't give a negative note because I appreciate the effort but wished to notify the developpers about the issue.

UNAMIT  great tool....ive been using all sorts of p2p apz b4 this and alot of them had their bugs but this one works just fine for me....it usually finds what im looking 4 and finishes the download, leaving a funktional file....mlmac and mlnet had their probs....this is great although the speeds could be better but it does what its supposed 2 do succesfully... thanks 4 this-keep it up

ANONYMOUS  Seems to be slower in finding servers in the beginning, but once it has been active for a few minutes and has connected it works like a charm. Much easier to use the mlnet and mlmac. Two thumbs up.

i've been using mlnet with the web interface for ages, tried out this one just for curiosity, i can't see any reason to go back to the w.i.

ANONYMOUS  managed to download and install, and it finds files when doing a search, but once i click on download,it just sits there. The help is quite poor, as is the online help. Looks as though it could be a great program once it works, but troubleshooting with it is difficult.

PMK  that's I call a damned software : the idea of a mldonkey client is fine ans more but xdonkey is a pleague ... that's maybe interesting for such people as developpers, but for simple users ... by the hell ! try mlmac for instance : slow but less worse than xdonkey !!!

ANONYMOUS  Looks nice, and with more options than mlMac, but it really sucks up CPU. On my dual 1.8G5 it takes about 90% CPU time, and it responds hardly. It can take minutes before anything happens when I click on a tab, but more often I just have to stare at the beachball :/

FROM PANAMA CITY  I don't know about you, but personally I think this is the best way to connect p2p in mac. I've was using mlMac before and that is one of the buggiest apps I've used so far.

MR.ASH  The new version 0.6 has a lot of bugs. The contextual menu often turns to gray and nothing works till the app crashes completly. I think it's very user unfriendly (not to say stupid) that the % and the chunks bar now are one unit. Please split them again!

The former version 0.5 was a lot better than this one, so i'm switching back.

ANONYMOUS  While I was liking the previous version, this new one (0.6) is *buggy*. All contextual menu choices greyed out in the Transfers pane? the "Servers" tab sometimes gets "stuck" and won't allow itself to be selected anymore? Sort by "Sources" no longer works properly, and sort by "Speed" is broken. Oops, and it just spontaneously quit on me while I was typing this. And the new combining of "%" and "Chunks" is an eyesore and less functional. I'm regretting I tosssed my old copy of the previous version.

Aside from that, Xdonkey shows a lot of promise

BEZIERBOY  Yet another promising file-sharing app with a spiffy interface, well-supported and designed download protocol, and large set of files available online that WON'T download ANYTHING on my Panther 10.3.2 TiBook G4/550 with a cable internet hookup.

Lots of results, no downloads via Donkey protocol EVER. Will download FastTrack files excruciatingly slowly. This is with my OS X firewall turned completely off OR with it open for just filesharing ports.

Whatever I'm doing wrong must be pretty obscure as I'm a very experienced OS X user who knows a good bit about networking. I really doubt my ISP is blocking ports needed for this, they don't block any other filesharing ports. Tried the support forums on the developer website but they're just general Donkey protocol or mlDonkey stuff, nothing about xDonkey. I'd email the author but I can't write in French.

JFREYBA  This is not exactly a GUI... It's got the core on it, like mlmac, and this point should be announced. I mean, if you are currently running mldonkey with another GUI, you must change nearly all xdonkey presets, and even doing it it's difficult to keep your current downloads running. This app runs by itself, and it changed my current mldonkey parameters. Fortunately, I deleted the app and my presets came back... Uffffffff! I've got my downloads running again.
