ZDZISLAW LOSVIK I don't know if you are going to advertise WebDevil here or what. (problem with sales?) I have seen your posts (copied/pasted) all over many sites were DeepVacuum appears. All of them made over last night. You could use at least same nick name everywhere. It may have happened that there was some problem with DV but I always provide users with as good support as possible. In example: stability = 3. Did it ever crash on you? DeepVacuum is rock stable as it is build on wget. wget is a very, very mature program with almost no crash related bugs. Ease of use 1/5? I just got 4/5 from you with exactly the same comment on another site. How come? So please at least test something you are going to write about.

ABC I had trouble doing a simple thing-- just wanted the web page and all web pages linked to it. I found the preference selections to be very confusing and had to figure out what the settings should be by trial and In contrast, SiteSucker and Web Devil had much clearer preference selections and instructions.

XENOPHILE "Trial and error" - WTF dude? DeepVacuum has highly detailed application help resources covering every available option. Help resources are accessed via the "Help" menu in the menu bar, it's the last menu going from left to right (the menu bar is at the top of your computer monitor). To open the menu, use your mouse to position the on-screen pointer over the word "Help" and click once and release. Then move the pointer to highlight the menu item you want to view (menu items automatically highlight when the pointer brushes over them). Click once and release to select the menu item, which will quickly flash a few times. A new window will open and float above all.... Awww, eff it, this is a waste of time. You're review sounds like you're either an epic moron, or you have an ulterior motive such as driving down sales of DeepVacuum in favor of a competitor.

although it has some pretty good features and its pretty easy to use, i would never pay even $7 for it. the interface is messed up. for example, the tabs on the top are a little too high. even after I installed wget, it returns a library link error. a note to the developer(s): this app has a lot of potential, but its just not good enough yet. one more thing: make sure you test it on all the machines you can before you release it as final.

ANONYMOUS ok, I can see from the comments that the problem comes from me, but I can't download anything but the index.html, the robots.txt and .cc file from any site - nothing else gets downloaded :( I tried increasing # of retries in prefs as the author suggests somewhere to no avail... Any tip?

JDUNN I ran Memory Usage Getter while downloading an mp4 file w/ Deep Vacuum. was using about 7 MB of RAM, and about 36% of the processor at the highest point. I'm not sure about it eating up virtual memory, but it seems fine to me. I am a Speed Download fan, but this is a useful app, and it's free.

KRC I have to say that this has to be one of the best site-suckers out there! I have managed to snag hundreds of wallpapers from one website in a matter of minutes with this program. The options, however, were a bit confusing but after a bit of experimenting and a fat internet connection, I was off sucking off sites in seconds. Although, as website admin, a program like this could pose a problem, bandwidth-wise, so depending on certain webservers, you might want to proceed with caution. Especially in some webhosts, using a website harvester can be illegal. But for what does this program does, it does a really good job in sucking them in.

ALEXF Great app, though a bit confusing because of its options. Of course, that's a good thing once you figure out how to use them. Most valuable feature for me is that it will install wget so that you can use it from the Terminal. That's a big plus for those of us who don't want to use Fink's wget.

LUHMANN I still get the memory error with v .9 - but as the developer suggested, it works when Safari cookies are turned off. Otherwise it is an amazing program, the most useful GUI for wget I've seen, one that actually makes it easier to use the GUI than the command line.

GARRETT ALBRIGHT If y'all wanna check out a similar tool which might work better for you, and "./configure, make, make install" doesn't scare you away, I highly recommend pavuk, which many people (myself included) find less glitchy than "wget".
