ANONYMOUS  You need Stuffit Expander (now part of Stuffit Standard) to decompress .sit files.

It used to be the standard compression tool on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X versions prior to Tiger. Beats me why Expander is no longer installed with Tiger.

ALLUMESUX  "Beats me why Expander is no longer installed with Tiger."

Because Apple recognizes that it is no longer necessary, we have .zip, .dmg., etc.

And Stuffit is junk, it is not debatable that it has caused many problems over the years, since version 4.5 nearly every new iteration brings new problems.

Smart developers have already dumped Stuffit and use .zip and/or .dmg.

PARANZASOFT  As far as we're concerned Stuffit has been a very useful tool that produced compact and error free archives. So far we haven't had any direct complaints about this from our users.

We do recognise that for users who don't have Stuffit Expander there's no need to require additional downloads etc. Starting with the November 2005 version the tables will be available in a self-extracting dmg format.

We hope that this will work for *all* users and welcome all feedback.
