YAY4MERLOT I personally prefer EasyBatch (-the 'photo'): http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/29733/easybatch I used to actually use a command-line tool to do batch processing, but GUI apps are a much much nicer alternative. (Version 2.3)

JRFSMITH I have been using Easy Batch Photo and Easy Crop for about a year now and I know that I could not do without either product. I regularly have to re-size or otherwise edit a number of photos at one time. These two applications make both tasks easy and foolproof each time. Easy to learn, easy to use. (Version 2.2.3)

BRUMM 24 DOLLARS ....OR just FREE as in BEER: The best resizer I've found for Mac is the FREEWARE 'ThumbsUp', http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11898/thumbsup ThumbsUp can not only create thumbnails or icons for images and movies. ThumbsUp goes far beyond, it's a superfast batch image resizer, a format converter (for example jpg to tiff, etc.) and ThumbsUp can sharpen (!) and antialias (!) the images (not only the thumbs as falsly stated in the manual) and can do all that in one fast step. ...and yes, ThumsUp is FREEware. JOHN ML I'm in Cambodia volunteering for Kiva, and was searching for a fast and intuitive way to pre-process many photos for upload. Because uploads are challenging in Cambodia -- an environment where "broadband" is the speed of U.S. dial-up -- I wanted to be able to reduce the size of photos I'd taken and watermark them. I found an elegant and simple solution in EasyBatchPhoto. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants to easily perform commonly used batch processes on their photos! (Version 2.2.3)

WITHTLC Very Good Batch image processing program... GraphicsConvertor (Lemkesoft) can perform most of these same operations but not as easily, nor as cleanly. Wish it had EXIF batch time offsets (yes iPhoto will do it but the photos are not always in iPhoto) - as that would seal the deal. Program has a few GUI inconsistencies (you can't drag a folder to EXIF info browser) and its prompt for where to put output is not the standard file folder/selector.. Defining presets for workflows is really nice for defining frequently used workflows.. Uniq features include watermark capabilities, and auto centering of resized images with fill to fit "frames". SICKBAR As a journalist that also write applications reviews for an online magazine I found myself taking screenshots (using skitch) but then, one by one changing their sizes. EasyBatchPhoto eliminates the amount of time I have to spend adjusting the photos to the size the magazine demands. Add to that the various options the app includes for such a small cost and you got yourself a must for your list of applications. (Version 2.2.2)

KILLER KLOWN KAR It's hard to believe there aren't more reviews for this. I have been using Easy Batch for some time. It's a really great app. In some of the very first releases it would quit unexpectedly, but that hasn't happened in a couple years. As a photographer let me tell you one little feature that this has that makes it invaluable. I can take say 6 folders of images, and drop it into the processing window. Then easy batch will apply my own design watermark, copy the photos and directory structure to a newly created folder. It has many many more features than that, so check it out. 5 Stars all the way. KB0 EasyBatchPhoto was just what I was looking for. Very capable, easy to use. I had over 18,500 photos in my iPhoto library and with a smart tip from their support I converted all of the photos, that were stored by iPhoto in over 2,500 folders into sequenced filenames stored in one single folder in less than 1 hour. Stunning performance, simple to use. This is the solution. Highly recommended, there is nothing else available that could accomplish this. (Version 2.2)

ANONYMUS I don't know who the other reviewers are, but I just downloaded this version and spent 30 minutes with it, and could not get a single image to output from the app. Some of the critical features (like watermarking) are completely greyed-out in this Demo version, there is no apparent way to specify your input files, there are NO INSTRUCTIONS (not even any online Help) with the Demo, and most importantly: there is no "Start" button to begin the batch process after you have defined it. In other words, this Demo version is completely useless. The feature set seems good, and the resizing controls appeared to be better than any other batch image processor, however with no way to actually get any output, there's no way to see if it actually works as advertised. CHAOSCLOWNZ I was looking for a good watermarking program, tried all I could find on MacUpdate and VersionTracker. This was the best, and for the price it does a lot more than the programs made only for watermarking that cost the same amount. The only request I have for features, would be a little more control of the watermark. I would like the program to scale the watermark to be say 10% (user customizable of course) of the photo, while still keeping the image at a constrained proportion of itself so it is not distorted. Tip for watermarks: Whatever size your 'watermark' image is, is how big it will appear on a photo. So make a couple different sized watermark logos based on your photo size (one for large photos, one for medium photos, etc). When you batch, do photos of similar size together with the proper watermark. This way you dont have a huge watermark on a small photo, or too small a watermark on a large photo. (Version 1.4.7)

First of all, the dialog box is NOT unnecessary. If you enter a name, a folder with that name is created and the processed files go into that new folder. We have never seen it crash at the dialog box like you said. If you click on Cancel, the operation is cancelled. There is simply no way clicking on Cancel would result in a "successful conversion" like you described. Pete, if you read this posting, can you please email us (info@yellowmug.com) so we can figure out what's going on? Thanks. To other Mac users out there, we hope you'd give us the benefit of the doubt and give it a shot. -Yellow Muggers (Version 1.2.8)

PETE A couple crashes on initial run of the program caused concern, but the program hasn't crashed since then. Quick response drom the developer fixed other bugs which weren't apparent to me. This is a nice, quick way for anyone to re-size their photographs. I've re-adjusted the rating accordingly. (Version 1.2.8)

PETE I recommended this to friends who are new to digital photography before I actually tested it. It has an un-necessary dialog box that comes up asking which folder to save the file(s) in. Entering anything in this crashes the program. Just clicking cancel, which for most people would not be the way to go, results in a successful conversion. Clean up the confusing dialogs and it will be a good addition to anyones' graphic program library. (Version 1.2.8)
