LOUNGE DELUXE  Steep upgrade price of $19.95. Pity, especially considering the fairly high full version purchase price for an app that just composes business cards. It is my guess that BeLight reckons potential buyers of BCC will be professionals with plenty of cash. Seems like I'll have to continue using version 4 (that pretty much serves my purpose).

BELIGHT TEAM  We understand that some people are satisfied with Business Card Composer 4, and decide not to transfer to the latest version 5. Especially for these people we released Free update to v.4 making the program compatible with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard), which allowed you to continue using and enjoying previous version of the program.

DAVID DOCKERY  As a graphic artist I find this app is a great inspiration. Even though I can create the work myself I love to find new ideas by looking in books etc.. this app has already inspired me to go in directions I may have not ordinarily gone and I don't have to worry about copyright infringement.

Also - it is a timesaver for me. Time is something designers are always in desperate need of.

Thanks for a great program!!

ERIC  It Downloads 3.1 ...

I bought this app a few months ago and it just keeps getting better and more elegant. For making up business cards it doesn't get any more effortless and fun than this. Beautifully laid out with large work areas and an easy to understand interface make it a joy rather than a burden to do this task.

This is what third party apps should aspire to ... function, esthetics, and fun!

The cards turn out absolutely fantastic ... you won't be sorry you spent the money ...

RAWSWEETS  I'm a freelance graphic artist, and this is what I plan to use for all my clients, who are looking for a business card. Two features did it for me: Address Book synchronization and automatic page layout.

I can still design the card with my usual tools - like Illustrator and Photoshop - but now I don't have to bother with bleeds , etc. (whew!) And now, when it comes to changing a name, I don't have to edit ANYTHING but an addressbook entry and re-export the layout; this, instead of editing multiple text objects and rearranging cards.

Sure, there will be times when only Illustrator will do - but that's why they pay me the big bucks... To handle it - and this app does.

I just bought it after playing around for 10 minutes. It's worth it to me and my bottom line. My profit margins just gained weight!!

Awesome app - any improvements would only be made in the wizard-like startup, which doesn't hold one's hand enough (tooltips/pop-ups would be helpful).

High quality programming and appealing built-in templates. I'm using a few as starters. Great work!

ANONYMOUS  I can't agree with those who say this app is too expensive. I just used it to print photo-quality cards for a new venture and they turned out absolutely beautifully. Even though I really only needed the program for one design, the quotes I received from both on-line and local printshops had set-up fees considerably more than than $40.00 (that's excluding the actual cost of printing the cards). In addition, I got to take a look at my design before committing to a printer or paying for a proof(s). BTW, I've also got MS Publisher on my Wintel box, and it's nowhere near as simple to use to produce professional-quality photo business cards. I highly recommend this app for SOHO businesses and others who need professional cards without bleeding money.

ANONYMOUS  I own it and I have to say, as much as I like the program, I have to agree with many others; it's not worth the money. If it were priced at $25 or less, it would sell but it's just not enough bang for your buck...

ANONYMOUS  This application misses a very important feature: allignment on a center point. No rulers, etc. Not worth.

ANONYMOUS  Nice app but way overpriced. I know it's difficult to make a decision about the price for something as immaterial and immeasurable like a piece of software, and there went a lot of work into this app for sure, but still ... It only serves one single purpose: printing business cards on your printer. It can't do anything you wouldn't be able to do with a simple drawing program. You can do the same stuff even with the crappy AppleWorks drawing component and a business card template and it wouldn't look any more or less amateurish. BCC is ok to quickly put together some cards and print them out, but I don't know anyone who would hand out cards printed on an office printer. This is not what business people should do if they don't want to be seen as fraudulent impostors. People who don't have professionally-made business cards won't be recognized as professionals themselves, it's as easy as that. You can get a set of professionally designed and printed cards for about the same price at your local printer service, and i would go for this option rather than paying money for this program.

SAM CHENKIN  Good program. Does everything it says it will. Great templates and interface. I use it to design all my buisness cards. Just not worth $40 to me for my one card. I design it on this and make a final copy in publisher.

KEVIN  Excellent application. Fun to use. It makes the design process as easy as possible but gives you enough freedom as necessary.

NCIANCA  Nice app. Does what it says and rather well too. Lot's of options and the UI is well organized. Integrated with Address Book, so if you create cards for other's they need to be in your address book or use the custom fields. Haven't tried printing yet, but it seems to have pretty complete printer and special paper support (even mini-cd card support!). Certainly much faster then using InDesign to layout quick cards. The only thing missing is a ruler/grid, but it makes up for the lack by providing automatic alingment guides (like Illustrator and OmniGraffle).
