SIG  Great app. I seem to be having problems with the Williams Arcade Classics ROM's. Defender and Defender II. Works fine but the sound crackles. Doesn't bother me too much, but I'd love it if I could get it working properly. PB 1GHZ, 17" Tiger with 1GB RAM. Most of the other ROMs in my complete collection work fine. A bit of video issue, but I'm wondering if the sound settings are at fault (they're set to default).

I know Defender online via shockwave won't work on OS X. I'm not sure if it'll work on OS 9. I'm wondering if these would require OS 9 running.

Thanks for any information in advance.

AET  Does anyone else have a hard time configuring a controller in Tiger? I have a USB Logitech Precision. When clicking on the key in order to configure it, it starts blinking on the screen as if sporadically being held down.

ANONYMOUS  Me too... in fact, that's one of the games I couldn't play with the original SNES9X. This "custom" version let me play it -- as well as the rest of the Megaman X series, Starfox, Stunt Race FX, more I'm forgetting... must be FX chip support...? I find that this emulator runs more ROMs than the original, anyway. Very solid, and the bonus features are more than just little extras. It's the best SNES emulator for Mac OS X, period.

APHOTIC_HEX  Hi, Yeah. there was a problem, as I recall. I tried this rom out a few years back and it doesn't let you get past the menu or something? anyway, the way around it, is to use another snes emulator (i think i used silhoette(sp)? and freeze state. but yeah since its poor, import the freeze into snes9x. unless that was a dream :/ pretty sure it wasn't. hope that helps :}

ANONYMOUS  Vortex now works. :-)

Starfox 2 beta now works better (sound emulation must be off).

Super Air Diver now works better.

Starfox 2 early beta still does not work.

Turning off graphic layers no longer seems to work. :-(

Can't figure out how to set the SNES mouse (for Mario Paint), can anyone help?

JON  i dont get it, this emulator is taking up like 80% of my cpu and i'm getting dropped frames all over the place. Its emulating an SNES for gods sakes, i think my G4 800mhz can handle it.

I've tried multiple settings including direct and openGL. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get fluid gameplay?

thanks

MACMANX  Lower your CPU Cycles Percentage (in the SNES9X Custom prefs) to 90%. It will greatly improve performance for some odd reason.

CHINGY  Whenever I open this program I get its menus but am stopped from going any further by an endlessly spinning beachball for my cursor. I tried dragging a ROM onto the icon but the program immediately "unexpectedly quit". I am running Panther on a G4 PowerBook. Has anyone had a similar problem or know how to fix this?

ISKIPPY  Woo! I can finally play Mega Man X2 and X3 again! Native support for my otherwise unsupported MacAlly iShock (original model) is also incredibly sweet.

I hope the developers read these, 'cause they've got my eternal gratitude!

HEH!  That's too easy, do a search in MacUpdate for 'p2p', and download acquisition, or iswipe, or limewire etc.

Install program, search for the ROM you want, and 9 times out of 10, you will find it.

Piracy is illegal BTW.

MACMAN X  Super Metroid codes are working fine for me. Roger, go to http://www.cheatzilla.com and search for the game. You want to use the codes in "Raw" format.

MACMAN X  This is amazing! It does everything the original SNES9X does and more! It even supports the C4 chip (yes, that means you can play MegaMan X2 and X3)! BTW, for those of you wondering about codes, they are entered in raw binary format. You can find your favorite codes in this format at http://www.cheatzilla.com .

W00T  great emulator with nice new features, btw does anyone know if cheat entry is like GameGenie? anyways faster start than old SNES9x, OpenGL support has always been fast (for those of you saying its slow, get a new computer or a better graphics card. you probably have too slow of a GPU)

THORPRIME  Awsome Modifications. OpenGL looks great. Slows down old hardware but works better than RAVE did. Improved HID support. Multi-Tap support. Super Scope Support. Mouse support. Better Freeze Support. Only problem is it's X only which hates my old computer.

IAN LUECK  Boo-yeah! Finally, OpenGL video acceleration for SNES9X! It's ultra fast, has a ton more features than the regular SNES9X (such as Super Scope & light gun support and SPC sound recording), and is updated frequently, with a lot of changes every time. Very nice job! Still doesn't run Star Fox or Stunt Race FX, but I am confident that this will be fixed, judging on the amazing progress that's happened already.
