JESUS  If you have problems with Safari Menu, please remove the preference file and try again, they are located at: ~/Library/Preferences/com.edotstudios.safarimenu (where ~ is your home folder).

PETER NEHEM  This version (2.2.4) works great on my machine (G5 Dual 2Ghz), come up in a flash. But on my Dad's computer (same as mine) all the 2. series do not work, he just get's a spinning ball. He is using 2.0.something and it works fine, so he still uses that version. He thinks it might be something on his machine that is conflicting with the new version. I just wanted to post this so that perhaps the developer could look into it. I think I'll also drop a line to them from the main website.

I think it's great software!

FRANK  Small, handy and practical. One more thing should be reported back to the developer. Safari Menu seems to collide with AcidSearch. I have AcidSearch 0.32 pre-installed and then I installed Safari Menu, but I couldn't open Safari Menu's preferences pane. Then I uninstalled AcidSearch, and Safari Menu ran normally, and I could open its preferences pane. Since AcidSearch modifies Safari's search engine bar, probably that's why AcidSearch is not compatible with Safari Menu. Really hope Safari Menu can add the features like AcidSearch's, like adding other searching engines in Safari. Then I can put AcidSearch away. :) Anyway, thanks for making this good application. Safari Menu is really good.

RAYNEHEM  Since version 2.01 it is always busy. I had to revert to the older version to get it working. I have a dual 2GHz G5 and 10.3.6.

ROBIN  Great app! At first, I didn't notice the menu was in the Apple-bar ;)

I think it's sort of a nice look-forward to the Safari RSS Tiger will feature!

RENE SCHWAIGER  The RSS-feature may be nice but it doesn't work well in the actual version. I have tried several feeds but none of them were accepted by the program (the work fine in newsfire and netnewswirelite). The other thing that I miss (except a better rss-parser) is a implementation of favicons. Although a really nice app. Great work. Thanks for giving it way free.

BIGBEN  The fastest and best way to use bookmarks in Safari, I ever used. I startup Safari always with this app!

Very good that the Icon in menubar can now be set as 'open book', looks much better.

And always remember, it's not only a simpel and great programm, it is f r e e !!!

I love it

YORAM  Menu icon

It is a very nice and fast applicaton. However, I thouroughly dislike the menu icon. I don't understand that until now nobody thought of just using the bookmarks icon Apple uses in safari (open book). That would be the only logical choice. Until that happens I am not touching this application. Black and white please.

Bookmarks bar

Furthermore, the bookmarks bar is there for a reason: quick access. Therefore an option where these actual bookmarks are visible in the menu (on top and then a line) in stead of the folder would also be nice.

DEGGY  The icon is really easy to change, just dig in the safari resources, find the bookmark icon, copy it and paste it into the Safari Menu resouces and rename it to red.tif (or one of the colour.tif files that you are not using) select the colour you have just made in preferences and restart the app (would be nice if you didnt have to restart to change icon) and voila, a bookmark icon.

ANONYMOUS  Since update 10.3.1:

After reboot or suspending sleep, the safari menu is blocked. I have to restart the menu.

Then it's working normally.

But the google search is working now ;-)

ANONYMOUS  I have just begun to use Safari and frankly I find it superior to most other browsers. I think Microsoft would be well served to be careful or has wisely opted out of the Mac world.

ANONYMOUS  I cannot get the latest versions to download properly either. However, the previous version had become almost indispensable to me, except for the bug that prevented it from remaining in the login items (which was fixed, but then I couldn't download it!).

MACLECTIC  Nifty little applet. Works as advertised and FREE! Doesn't live update, but author says they're working on it.

I put 3 for stability because I haven't used it long enough.
