XK13  This is the best app ever!

It is the most versatile program for producing any kind of music and they have a really good and fast support.

THREEDEE912  The Photoshop of audio. Not much else to say. Lots of great features, but you have to know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

KILLER KLOWN KAR  Been waiting awhile for this. Bought the Suite 8 yesterday, will install and config this weekend. All I can say is very rarely does something come along that changes a paradigm, Live has done that. On the Mac the "competition" is Logic of course. But to me Live sounds better (Logic always sounds "squashed" to me) and has a much more fluid way of creation. Incredibly good and worth every penny.

JPINNIX  Powerful and easy to use. I own Logic and Reason too, but Live is the one I use the most.

AJ  What can't be said about Live?

its perhaps the most versatile application for producing, performing, remixing, and even DJing music in the last 5 years.

and its only going to get better.

4.1 includes the new "Operator" FM Synth.

to describe Operator in a word: Powerful.

ANONYMOUS  what's with ableton not providing release notes... even if they don't get into too much detail, it's always nice to have at least a general idea of what's been fixed/updated/changed/etc.

SUBFACE  Such a GREAT upgrade! now with the soft synth support Live does everything i need - no more need for a purely linear sequencer like Cubase or Logic.

Totally brilliant. Thanks Ableton!

ANONYMOUS  This is one incredibly brilliant audio application. Please consider adding AU support.

It's so annoying that the release notes are never published though. It seems that v3.04 sound quality is improved after what appears to be a regression in v3.03

ANONYMOUS  This software is, as we say in the industry, "The Cat's A**". I have used many types of creative programs of this type on Macs and PC's and this one goes to the top of the list!

ANONYMOUS  I'm still using 2.x, but Live is the most creative fun I've ever had on a computer. I don't understand that "veteran"'s review, but I suppose Live does not resemble the last 20 years of ponderous, limiting traditional music software. But numerous industry reviews confirm that Live is easier and more powerful than Acid or Soundtrack. And it does not crash. I'm saving up for version 3.

ANONYMOUS  This application made me happy that I could stop running Acid on a PC. I'm finally able to play with loops in a much better way than acid ever allowed me to. (plus I get to do it on my mac!) Comparing this to Soundtrack? No question, Live is WAY better with a lot more options for composing. I don't see how a 20 year 'seasoned professional' would make such a silly sounding comment.

SEYMOUR LANDERS  Live 3.0 sucked. It didn't do anything it said it was supposed to do, and I'm a seasoned professional with 20 years experience.

Its a piece of junk, not worth buying.

ANTHONY RIVERA  I am writing in response the the 20 year pro who is unhappy with Live. Sir what is it that you wan to do with Live that it says it can do but does not?

Live is the ultimate application in terms of features, stability, craftsmenship. What more could you possibly want from such a relatively inexpensive application? how can you say it "sucked"? or perhaps what is better?

Live is more stable than Acid (plus runs on the Mac). Live is also way more powerful than Apple's Soundtrack (toy) or Acid. First of all you get four warp modes, sample level audomation (they call it clip automation) and you can ReWire it to your favorite MIDI application? you can even rewire it to protool or logic! what is not to love?

To anyone who has not tried Live with Reason in ReWire mode it is awesome. Finally I can use my VST effects on my Reason drum programs and loops (without having to export them first!). Also I finally don't need to use ReCycle!! Live works with any WAV, AIFF, or SDII file.

am I missing something?

ANONYMOUS  Beta is working great. Still torn as to whether to buy Live or Soundtrack -- both are slick, but a bit pricey.
