previous version allowed to install for the current user only and did not require admin rights. current version no longer has option and you must install as admin.
just upgraded after seeing in the release notes that some memory leaks were fixed, but it's using 20MB more than the previous version. it's currently at 67.2MB. compare that to MPlayerOSX at around 20MB and quicktime player at 26MB.
after 1.4.2 updated, it wouldn't restart. turns out the binary at iGTD.app/Contents/MacOS/iGTD has the wrong permissions. doing `chmod 755 iGTD` from the terminal fixes it.
i use it on my laptop and the only thing i don't like is that when the alarm goes off it wakes up the display. i'd rather wake it myself by moving the mouse or pressing a key, just in case i'm away from the computer. i like to minimize the unnecessary use of the backlight to extend its life.
i love this screensaver. the only thing i wish i could do now would be to active fast user switching to bring up the login window when the screensaver activates. i tried using sleepwatcher, and that does work when the power management shuts off the display, but not when blackenedpixels does, so it seems the screensaver is not actually shutting off the display.
great widget, but two improvements would be really helpful.
first, it should be easy to figure out which service is used by just looking at the tracking number- google already does this.
second, when updating the widget, it would be nice if it could save its state (i.e. current open widgets) before relaunching. as it is now, i have several tracking widgets open now, and when i open a new one i get the 'updated' message and when i click on it to update and install, it closes all the already open delivery status widgets and relaunches with a empty widget, losing all the previously entered information.
unfortunately it cannot play sound if you don't have an active session. i have my screensaver activate the fast-user-switch login window for added security and when i log back in the morning, i see alarm clock is open, but it never made a peep, because it apparently cannot grab the speaker.
