This sounds very similar to RapidoSerial (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/24499/rapidoserial)

I've been using that program which automatically imports your apps, including icons, and lets you save lots of metadata about the app, including registration and/or serial # info. You can also export your licenses. and it's free!
