Exactly what I needed. Does exactly what it says it's going to do, nothing more or less. I can't believe that my mighty Mac wouldn't do this for me! Shame.
I had an issue with the program not copying new passwords over to itself after generating one for a web site. I emailed the developer for help, and an answer (though not a fix) came within 12 hours. A followup email was answered the same day. I think that kind of support is outstanding and deserves special recognition.
In spite of the previously mentioned problem, I purchased the program because it proved to be invaluable to me to increase my web security. Like most of us these days, I have web sites where security is essential, but generating my own passwords proved weak, and changing them was a royal pain. This program fixes all of that.
As for that problem I mentioned, basically it is this: when changing a web password, 1PW is designed to generate a strong password and make the change, then copy the new password into itself. There's the problem - when 1PW doesn't recognize the "change password" page within a site as a root of the main site, then it will either not copy the password, or it will try to generate yet another log-in page. This can be troublesome if you haven't made a record of the new password! It turns out, however, that 1PW does keep records of all new passwords, so that, at least is a work around.
What am I missing? I'm serious here... how long does it take to open Address Book? One second? How much time can this app save? Admittedly, I have not used the app, but that's because I see no advantage over just opening Address Book. Fill me in.
Installed just as directions specified - drug program icon into app folder. Then installed plug-in. Program works fine, but only by launching it. I can't get the plug-in to work through services, nor can I install the program icon into the menu bar. Is this a limitation with snow leopard?
Outstanding program. Just what I've needed for a lot of years. I find that when I read "normally," I either read every flippin word, one by one, which really slows me down, or I skip too many words when I try to speed up. This program makes me read every word, but at a constant speed, thereby really increasing my speed. I find myself actually cutting long article from emails or news feeds and pasting them into iReadFast. Great job, and I like the preference options.
I've been using this program for a long time now. When it was purchased by the current developer, they changed it in a way that isn't necessarily better, so I've decided not to upgrade (for free) and have stuck with version 2.7.4 - the last iteration before changing hands. The new style seems cluttered to me, with all the flags under the category column, and all the check-marks under the recipe column. Why? The old version accomplished the same thing without the clutter. Less is more.
I was going to try this program but after reading the comments of poor customer service, I'll pass. I've had it with companies that won't support their product. Customer service should be their number one priority after providing a quality product.

I'm evaluating this program now before committing to purchase. One thing that's driving me a little bonkers is when I use 1PW to generate a new password. I'm on the site I wish to be on, at the "change password" site, and instruct 1PW to generate a new password, then autofill the form. So far, so good, but when I submit that form, most of the time 1PW doesn't copy the new password over to itself. Of course that causes all sorts of problems when I try to sign in again. Now that I've discovered this "glich," I manually enter the new password into the program so that there's no trouble signing in next time. On the bottom left window of 1PW, there is a progress bar indicating that the program might be working on updating itself??
I'm fully aware that I might be the problem, but if anyone can clue me into what I might be doing wrong, I'd appreciate it.
