I've used v1.0.2 off & on when I had some extra time to use it. It find duplicate jpeg's effectively among other data I've accumulated over the years. So far, I've reclaimed 834.9 MB's of space. The only thing I would have liked to see is when the list of duplicates appears the very tiny preview image could be adjusted in the prefs..

I was looking forward to future updates. Sorry to see that v 2.0.2 is now ONLY for Intel Macs with Snow Leopard. I'm a G5 ppc person with Leopard.

Privoxy

I found the same stumbling block when I opened the downloaded version on the MacUpdate page link. That folder contained 86 items. So I went to the developer's website and followed the instructions there to download a zip file which was to include an installer. After being unzipped, this folder had only 14 items!!! But no item was named 'Installer' as per the instruction on the Privoxy web site. I assume it was simply just an over site. I'll stay with v3.0.6 which had the 'Installer' feature.

I don't get it. I wrote a CONSTRUCTIVE comment since I read all the NEGATIVE criticism about this particular freeware's icon. And every reply since, has been NEGATIVE toward my comments.

Never said an insulting word about the developer's hard work. RELAX folks!!!

No , I'm not a bit touchy. Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of comments you'll get. And that's ALL I have to say on this matter.

One of my guides to decide if an item is worth downloading is the icon itself. This is the first thing you visually associate with the developer's product. I my opinion, if they take the time & effort to create an eye appealing icon,
then they must surely have taken the time & effort to write a great program. The icon represents the software!!!

Unfortunately. I have no idea if this software is of professional quality because I'm afraid to download it since the developer's icon is so unappealing to my eyes.

I'm an Artist, visual representation is my specialty. I read many negative comments about Praat's icon. My comment was my personal point of view on a visual point only. Just trying to add some constructive criticism to this issue brought up in previous comments.

Yes, I agree, some software products have great looking icons ONLY. But that great looking icon appealed to your eyes & made you notice the product a bit longer.

It's the same marketing ploy you see when you go grocery shopping: "Pick Me,Pick Me!!!"

You Control
weasel commented on 10 Mar 2009
I purchased You Control when I first purchased my PPC G5 years ago. It has so many features, that it took me awhile figure out what I wanted to use. Eventually I added ALL the features. One time, on an update the developer missed one small feature. I emailed them & they said it would be back on the next update & it was! I've never had any problems!!! I also have You Control Desktops, which is GREAT. You could set a different picture for each desktop so you could visually know where you are at. Years ahead of Leopard's "Spaces" which does not have this option. I give it 5 STARS.
