VLC Media Player

VLC is a great video player. It is able to handle just about every video that I have thrown at it; even ones that Quicktime+Perian could not play.

It also has a lot of advanced features that I have tried playing around with.

Sometimes, it can crash with some of the more exotic video formats though.

Flash Video Downloader

I recently had to switch to an ISP that doesn't have a very good connection to the internet, so I am not albe to watch youtube videos anymore without problems.

Flash Video Downloader provided the solution that I needed. I just find a bunch of videos that I want to watch, add them to the FVD, and let it download overnight. In the morning, I have all of the videos that I wanted to watch.

I strongly recommend Flash Video Downloader to anybody who has trouble watching streaming videos (or just wants to save them for later).
