...well there was a time when this was used on many web pages, before flv took over from Real
media and Windows media.
I cant back this up, but I always felt that Real Media used to run better and clearer than Windows Media did back then. as I just said, I can't come up with technical data to prove this, it was just my opinion...
and there must have been a reason why web masters did use this often; it always seemed proprietary and I dont know if the developer behind Real Media is a nice guy or nice people or not...
- I always respected the efforts that were made to keep this up, saying this I downplay the
terrible price that used to be asked for pro versions and export compression software of this... that sure wasnt nice but well, everyone seems to have one' s reasons...
I feel whoever is behind Real Media may have gotten squashed in between Microsoft, Apple, and hitherto Flash Media, which at this point is much more common than anything on the net.
Yet, I am reluctant to install this now, I downloaded it but I didnt install - I d probably install it if not so many daemons were running on my system afterwards, from what I got to read here in the previous comments.
To end my comment, I dont wanna talk anyone into using this, neither condemn it...
all I wanted to state is this used to be good, could still be good without 'under the hood' bloat additions for the system and who knows...Real Media could have been the solution for streaming media... could have been.
I repeat, I cant back this up, its just a feeling.
Take this comment as babbling and ranting of one long time Mac OS user, and dont flame me, please.
Well all I can say after having tried this after a few years when I was out of the loop: WOW.
And its free. Works as advertised.
The keyboard even works on third units, not 'just' the cursor. And File Transfer...encrypted.
Its a blast. All the best to the clever developer-let!
Well done thank you.
I was VERY unlucky...I upgraded to 10.3.3 on my G4 1Ghz 17" Powerbook and now Airport card is displayed as uninstalled and the sound is off and no sound devices are found...Powerbook even restarted in safe mode, I dunno what to do. I ll try to downgrade tomorrow but if anyone knows help, please write.
[Version 10.3.3]
