Ah, it's always refreshing to update a review and improve it. The "card view" from the previous Lion full screen mode has been vastly improved and better integrated with other views (it's sortable, configurable, can show the note to the side, etc). Speaking of full screen, it now matches the standard view, just full screen - the way every other program works, and it's fantastic. Finally, they added in built-in account sign out and switching. Not the most streamlined, but it works and obviates the need for things like Evernote Account Switcher.
The only thing keeping me at 4 stars instead of 5 is that text editing and manipulation is still really wonky. Cursor keys don't move as expected (press down arrow in a table, for instance), copy/past still changes your paragraph breaks (adding and removing them at random), and generally needs some debugging.
Even so, I think this is enough to convert me to a paying customer, so it's a win for Evernote. :-)
Really tired of the Sparkle update not working without user interaction. Really tired of the update not going where I installed the app (i.e., not at /Applications). Really tired of having to reactive the app on every single update. Still upset over the developer reneging on free updates.
For what it does, it's a good program - but everything else (paying, updating, dealing with the non-responsive developer) is excruciating.
Confirmed; version 3.1 (legacy) works fine and addresses the sandboxing issues of 3.0. Assuming no other gremlins (and no reason to expect any), this is back to being the premier decompression app.
And now to lay into Apple on the sandboxing design.
The developer decided to go with the App Store for version 3.0, and due to quarantine bugs this breaks the app badly. Applications and scripts (basically anything executable) will look like they're extracted correctly, and then fail to launch with no error message. It's all due to The Unarchiver's decision to sandbox.
This even made MacFixIt:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57406599-263/tackling-a-newly-installed-application-not-opening-in-os-x/
Note the date that the first people started reporting this happening - 3/22. Look at when The Unarchiver was updated to 3.0. 3/22. Seems pretty obvious to me what's going on.
Numerous people have reported this to the developer, and not only is he not fixing it, he's just deleting the comments and reports. This software is silently breaking people's computers left and right and the author is not only doing nothing, but actively trying to silence anyone who brings up the issue.
Evernote is outstanding at organizing all of the bits of information that pass by every day, from lists, pieces of projects, reference materials, etc. All in one place and synced across devices and available everywhere.
So why such a low rating? For starters, the Safari clipper plugin is now a plain bookmarklet, which means it's going to add web pages using the Evernote web site, rather than do it direct to the application. This means you can't easily clip private pages like receipts or tax documents without it going in an online synced notebook, and it also tends to lose a lot of formatting fidelity along the way. They could write a new plugin that would work with Safari 5.1, but have decided that a bookmarklet is "good enough".
They also added Lion full-screen mode, but its implementation is terrible. When in full screen, you will NOT use list view. You will NOT use snippet view. You will NOT view actual content at the same time as the view. You will NOT sort the "list" any way but alphabetically by first letter. You WILL like the thumbnail and size Evernote has chosen. And that is the ONLY way you will use Evernote in full screen. Here, take a look at the difference:
Normal:

Full Screen:
http://oi41.tinypic.com/2a8f1ux.jpg
http://oi44.tinypic.com/wqqxyr.jpg
Doing nothing (i.e., use the existing three-pane single-window interface) would have been infinitely better. As it is, they've poured effort into making the interface worse and less usable.
I'm pleased as punch to say that the full-screen issues have been addressed in 3.1.0, and I've updated my review and rating appropriately. Web Clipper is still feature poor, but it doesn't look like they're going to create a plugin for clipping again.
Developer's website seems full of questionably-legitimate products - at the very least, slapped together video converters for exorbitant amounts when free items do everything they're advertising and more.
Just my opinion, but this looks like a scam to me.
Here, for most cases extract all e-mail addresses for free. The main functionality of this can be replaced by a half-dozen lines of Perl. So I did so and packaged it as an Automator Workflow - enjoy.
This has worked for me before, but lately (sadly, not sure when it stopped working) it's been failing more than it's been working. All manner of flash ads and videos have been showing up where none did before. Running a completely up-to-date Lion system - 10.7.2, Safari 5.1.2, ClickToPlugin 2.5.4, Flash 11,0,1,152 (whatever *that* means).
Ever since the last few versions, NNW crashes a few times a day. So it's a choice between either an old version that doesn't sync properly or a current version that crashes all the time. I've sent dozens of crash reports, but no updates.

My copy of TV Shows (2.0b6r2) froze/crashed System Preferences on first use. Subsequently it appears to be working, but always says "Last Checked: Never", and hasn't downloaded any new torrents. Is there a LaunchAgent/Daemon that I should check for?
A reboot seems to have fixed it. Perhaps whatever periodic check process (whether via launchd or some other mechanism) wasn't loaded properly? The prefpane was installed for "All Users".
Never make it hard for people to give you money. I guess I just saved myself $40.

After all this time it still doesn't support tunneled SSH connections properly. For instance:
Local: MacBook Pro, 1440x900
Remote: Mac Mini, 1024x768
ssh -L 5902:127.0.0.1:5900 mini
This will tunnel any request for port 5902 on the local machine to the remote mini over SSH (I use 5902 because I already have VNC servers running locally on 5900 and 5901). When I use JFVNC to connect, I get the picture of the remote system in a window the size of the local system. No other VNC client does this on any platform I've used (Ubuntu, UltraVNC, Palm microVNC, Apple's Screen Sharing, Chicken, etc).
Reported for the last six months at least, no progress. I'd really like to use this, but for now I just can't.
It doesn't support it over an externally created tunnel. I don't see any built-in functionality for creating SSH tunnels in JFVNC.
Also, I've since seen this same behavior when connecting to UltraVNC on my Thinkpad, without an SSH tunnel. The screen shows up, but stretched to the size of the host machine.
This unfortunately makes this software completely useless for me.
Thinkpad, Screen Sharing.app (scrolls, as the Thinkpad screen is taller than my local screen):

Aqua4iTunes doesn't work with iTunes 7.1 (released today). Running it will break the "Library" view or any non-iTunes store view. Uninstall is also broken, much to my disappointment (Applescript error).
One of the users over on SourceForge rewrote the weather.xml file, which is used to parse results for city searches. In a nutshell, you can search for city names again (but not zipcodes).
I've wrapped it up in a nice AppleScript front-end and posted it here:

It seems the preference to always open graphics at 100% is broken; even with this set my files frequently open at 24%, 17%, etc. It gets very annoying having to keep hitting Command-= every time.
And don't get me started on the Intel version not importing preferences from the PowerPC version...
Am I missing something, or is there no address book integration? I've spent weeks integrating all of my contact info from multiple sources (Mail, Address Book, Palm, etc) and I'd really like to leverage all of that in Adium.
No, not quite what I mean. What it does now is simply looks up your full name and picture if you give it an IM user id. What I want is for Adium to automatically add any IM address in my Address Book to my buddy list, preferably checking for changes on launch, so if I add a new IM address for someone, they show up automatically in Adium.
