I have signed up for MacUpdate for the sole purpose of informing fellow sufferers of Transmit that there is light at the end of the tunnel !! I've been using Transmit for months and crying with frustration as it hangs and times out on my FTP uploads. Sure it has loads of features and its dead easy to use, but I can help but it just doesnt work properly.

I have just discovered FileZilla and I can tell you folks - its FREE, it works and it just motors away without a single error. The transfer rate is way higher and it even has a wizard for checking your connection. Brilliant. Goodbye and good riddance to Transmit !!!
