Data Rescue

I started running the deep scan 40 minutes ago and it still says "scanned block 0 of [3.9+ BILLION] (phase 1 of 3)." Assuming it finished scanning the first block after 1 hour, at that rate it would take about half a million years to finish. If I were only willing to wait one month for it to finish, it would have to speed up to 6 million times that rate, after the first block. So, I'm wondering if I should likely give up (at least if it still says 'scanned block 0' after leaving it overnight), or if cloning would work better.

When I did quick scan, it said it didn't find any files.
