Chronories
Thekryz commented on 17 Jan 2010
"Do you mean that Chronories should store the last change date for each entry?"
Exactly. Maybe even all the change dates, and even cooler would be a playback feature like in Google Wave where you can see previous versions of an entry. Might be overkill though.

I'll try to reproduce the bug once my MBP is back from the ER :< Got some graphic problems again...

I requested the playtime of a song because I might be listening to joyful music now, and sad music later... and I could track that if Chronories kept the times.

One more thing: I love how Chronories stores all this information for the current day - but can't it import for example the mails of previous days to the fitting entries? Or check the weather for gone days? Things, that are already there, but only for entries that are made when the Mac is turned on?

Thanks guys that you are so active in responding to user requests! This makes your piece of software even more outstanding!

Chronories
Thekryz commented on 23 Dec 2009
Hi guys,

wow - after using MacJournal for a couple of days I really enjoy trying this app!
What I'm missing most:
- Import of entries from MacJournal (and maybe other Journaling apps)
- Import of my photos with Chronories putting them in the right day according to the recording date
- Doing the same with even more files according to their creation date
- Make it possible to record an audio entry instead of a written entry.
- Make backups / exports
- ability to see how much space my stuff takes on my HDD
Other than that, probably gonna buy this while it is cheap in the Christmas sale :D

One more thing: It would be nice if Chronories could also record me rating a song :> If that is possible at all.

Okay, even one more thing ;)
Visited pages seems to only record Safari... at least I cannot see any Firefox-visited pages... dislike :(

Photos: I'd just like to import files directly from my HDD and have Chronories check the date when the photo was taken and then automatically add it to this date entry. I didn't mean iPhoto import (even though that might be useful as well), I manage my photos on my own and just have them as files.
So what I want to do is show Chronories my complete photo folder and let it do its thing, adding the photos to the entries.

HDD: I just didn't see where a "chronories file" or anything is saved - I guess it takes quite some disc space if I put photos and audio, maybe even videos in there - so I'd like to see how much MB/GB it uses on my hard drive.

Two more things:

First thing I noticed today: There should be a Drop-Down Menu for locations, so I can choose where I am at the moment instantly. For example, I am now in a different place to celebrate christmas and it gets my weather wrong of course. I don't want to change the weather location completely, only temporarily for these days.

Secondly, I'd love to make entries for months or years instead of days. Background: I remember some childhood stories and events, but I couldn't tell the exact date. So if I could just put in a month or a year instead of a day, that would be extremely helpful. Would need to be represented in the date at the upper left as well though. This is something I missed with MacJournal as well and would love to see it in Chronories.
...I might write more stuff - should I write it here or send it to you via mail? (Actually, it seems to me, you responded in this forum faster than to my mail ;) )

Also, would love to be able to group the RSS Feeds by the feed (I have three atm). At the moment, only Date and Title seem possible.

Got one more thing (..again ;) ):
Could you make it possible (by an input field for example) to jump to a certain date? Just found something I wanted to enter for the year 2000 and find it cumbersome to klick me all the way into the year 2000.

Ah - and another request: Since I keep writing entries for earlier days, it would be helpful, cool and I guess easy to implement to keep two or more dates for an entry: Especially the date when I wrote the entry, which might be far in the future. So I'd like to see in my entry for July 1st 2000 that I actually wrote it on January 3rd 2010. Please please please :)

Seems I found a bug:

When I want to add more than one picture to "Other pictures" it won't allow it via drag&drop (first one was no problem). Using the button is working of course, but not as nice.

Request :) I am missing a feature to display and sort when I started listening to some music - it only shows how long I listened to it. Could you add this? Could be a little tricky if I listen to that song more than once though :> Just add another entry to the list ^^
