I have used Onyx for years without any fear. With Leopard, the 10.4 version was obviously discarded -- although I still use it regularly to keep my 10.4.11 Macs in good shape. However, 2.0.5b2 (beta) finished its work and simply stopped. I finally gave up and forced restart. The result was 10.5.7 with a faulty finder, nothing showing on the desktop including HD, and the inability to do anything. Luckily, starting in Target mode with my laptop allowed me to re-install the combo upgrade and get it going again. Now I am afraid to try Onyx again, especially, of course, any beta versions.
I bought the original Audiocorder, then when I went to use it a dialogue told me it could not be used on Mac OSX. I bought the new Audiocorder only to find that the license expires after one year forcing the user to fork out $10 to use it for another year. This is a one year "rental."
