Sandvox is a pretty good app, but not the most intuitive or stable out there. I realize it's beta and hence the instability. I've been using it since the first public beta and have been working with a developer or two in order to resolve some particular bugs. The developers are very active and really working hard to get rid of all the remaining bugs.
Brilliant! Brilliant brilliant! Very intuitive and easy to use. It's a very simple app, but anyone can use it immediately. I have one side of my family in the app within 10 minutes. Awesome program! (Great sample family, too!)
One suggestion is to allow vertical organization instead of only horizontal.
The old YP is a joke compared to this! Each of the YP apps (or whatever they were called) cost a significant amount of money and were never ported to OS X. My opinion? Who needs 'em?!
I've been using it since 1.0 and can't imagine using anything else. Keep up the awesome work Praeter!
Oooh! Great stuff! I like this a lot. I've been missing folder lists ever since I started using OS X, but this fills that need. The output is a clean, orderly text file that lists as much or as little as you like. Just enter the path of the folder you want printed (I use the contextual menu Copy Path), set the output file name, set any filters, and hit return. The file quickly shows up on your Desktop. SLICK! I entered "/" (the very top of the hard drive) into PrintFinder and selected to include sub-folders and it eventually created an entire listing of my whole boot drive! 21MB, no less! It took a minute or two, but eventually a massive file opened up and listed everything from the Finder. Absolutely amazing!
This installer creates a folder in /Library/StartupItems and installs a handful of files. I don't know if it installed things anywhere else. It has tried connecting to five different IPs, though I do not know what info they are sending/receiving. I haven't connected to any sites that use this protocol (or whatever it is), but it is still connecting to those servers.
Absolutely brilliant! I registered with the 1.0 version and the 1.1 is even better! I was a long time user of CocoaGestures and I loved it. I began using nothing but Cocoa apps just so I could gesture, even though there may have been a Carbon app (like Firefox vs. Camino) that could have done the job better. Now, I am free to use any app I want! Java apps, Cocoa, Carbon, even X11! I can't get enough of this app and have had no problems with it... especially not with the OS9-style lockups that another user claims can happen. I didn't think it would be possible to add something like closing a background window with a gesture, but this author did it! Thank you so much for the awesome gift you have given the OS X community. I can't wait to see this featured at WWDC by Phil Shiller!
I like the icons and how easy it is (if you are comfortable getting into Contents), but I'd like to see some icons that has a little bit smaller boxes. I think it gives it a cleaner feel that way. An auto-installer would be great, too.
I solved the cookies problem I reported earlier. I had turned off cookies in Safari some time ago and kept them off. Apparently Safari's settings are universal to any webkit app.
This app seems very interesting. I am having trouble figuring out what it does, how it does it, and why, but the effort put into it is very impressive. I hope to see more from this in the future.
Version 1.5 does not launch at start-up, despite having the checkbox marked in the prefpane. It can't be added as a Startup Item in the Accounts prefpane. Any ideas?
It looks like it could be a cool app, but when I try logging in with my .net thing, I get an error saying that cookies must be turned on to log it. Cool use of webkit, though!
With this version, my main screenname signs off after 3-5 seconds and an alert box appears saying that my screenname has been signed on at another location. Only one of my three screennames is affected by this. When I revert to 4.5.995 the problem goes away
[Version 4.6.1131]
