Decent enough application and possibly worth the shareware fee. However, it should *always* be disclosed when updating a product will change it from freeware to shareware. The free trial period should at least apply from scratch. Doing so without warning is despicable behaviour on the part of the developer.

the installer does warn that it will update automatically, but there is no choice given.
Review:
I installed this solely to watch Netflix streams. A previous version did not work, but this one does the job and has not crashed for me. I wish Netflix had chosen another protocol, BUT the software does appear to work as advertised, so I can't give it as low a score as others have done. I may need to adjust my stability score after further use.
I have used FileChute since an early version and it is ideal for sending files to other people with no effort.
Yes, you can achieve this manually without buying FileChute, but this little app makes it all so easy that it is worth it for me. The best part is that for the person at the other end, they just click a URI and get the file they need. I never need to help them figure it out and that makes it well worth the small fee.
I have had this app since 2003 and have been asked for upgrade fees twice. The first time the upgrade was bug fixes with only minor added features.
The last time, it was an improved look, but not much else.
IMHO it is not good to keep charging upgrade fees on shareware, especially if it is not insanely great. I don't like Roxio, but might as well instead pay them for a lot more features and the same modus operandi.
There is a major bug introduced after 1.22, so do not use newer builds of Transmission until this is fixed. You will use all your bandwidth and get bad ratios on your trackers.

Other than that, this is a great app

Use Adium, unless you need video. I wish they would add that.
