For me, it's all about keyboard access and screen real estate. I've been using third-party iTunes controllers since pre-OS X days and the one thing my preferred apps have had in common is the ability to control iTunes using hotkeys and an absence menu bar icons or palettes or Dock badges or what have you taking up my screen when I don't need it.

SizzlingKeys has all this in spades. And after using the free version for a couple years -- extremely capable as is -- I gladly paid the small registration fee for the "Pro" features.
