Well thanks to the dev who is masquerading as a regular user on these reviews, for sayng how to create a block list to add specific IP's for blocking.
BUT...this is still archaic. It needs to be within the interface. People don't want to hack and create files, they want a convenient way to do something within the app. When an end user has to add things on their own to make an app function like it should in the first damn place, then that's needing to "hack" to give it a function the dev didn't or couldn't give it. Didn't ever see Steve Jobs put out an app and then tell people "Oh to do this you need to go and do this on your own." If a function made sense, it was built into the app.
Still doesn't allow individual choking of peers who won't give back but continue to leech at high speeds. Evidently this dev. is incapable of this level of programming, even though most other p2p apps will allow that function.
Oh really? Do you come here just to dis other people or to be helpful? I rate apps on how they work...seems you like to come and insult people. Why don't you let the rest of the world in on your great secrets of "understanding apps" before you just come and dis. I don't see your review as helpful at all, I see it as a personal insult. I have posted about this app having inabilities before, and not even the DEV has been willing to say anything about how to individually add peers to a blocklist. So out with it Mr. Smarty Pants...share with the rest of the world and stop being mean.
As I already have said...isn't it OBVIOUS that this 190mud fraud is the developer throwing a passive aggressive tantrum because people are dissing his app for things it really should have and don't? People should report him, I thought that was against the rules here.
I'm happy it works for some people who like the window thing. The contextual menu does not work at all, rendering this app useless because most of its ease and functionality was contained in the CM. And FYI, you don't just "have some problems with your provider" when it comes to websites not being up...we're not talking about a little while here, we're talking about NOT BEING A FUNCTIONAL DEVELOPER FOR YEARS, so whoever talked to the dev...the dev fed you a line and has his own life problems (obviously) and appears to be lying to the whole community. Shades of Stryder Software...the app hasn't been updated in years and doesn't fully work...find something else to use...it was great in its time but that time is long gone. And like Stryder did...you MIGHT get a working version again in like...10 years??
I thought I'd give this a try (again) because I have a stubborn dvd. As in the past, I am stunned at the lack of quality output with this app. Not only does it not save a file as an MP4 when I select it, saves it as .m4v, but the quality is horrible. Artifacting all over the video. I cannot recommend this. You should compare MPEG Streamclip and VisualHub (VH has been discontinued for a long time but still works fine)to this, you too will be amazed at the awful output this does.
Why are many connections happening in this program (seen via Little Snitch) when I have absolutely NO uploads or downloads active? LS is seeing this as connecting to dozens of IP numbers even though there's Zero up or downstream.
Why? This seems like a security breach to me to leave open connections if no transfers are initiated. And I mean NO files are uploading or downloading, I mean I am not waiting on ANY torrents or anything else...thought I'd say that before the obvious reply "you must have a transfer going you don't know about..". NOT.
Should I continue to use this if open connections are happening that I didn't initiate? How are why are these connections open?
Why do you include a link to the latest FFMPEG and it just downloads a binary called the same? You make the app...why don't you tell people WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THE FILE ONCE THEY HAVE IT??
Well nevermind. I just found out I can use this program ONCE to test and that's it. I converted some flacs to AAC to see if they play on my Alpine car stereo...they don't. So I was going to see how it works with conversion of FLAC to MP3 but guess what, I CAN'T because I have to buy it now. Screw that, I want to make sure an app will work for what I need before buying it.
You won't sell any with this extreme cripple. Good Luck.
The two iso's I've tried to mount with this didn't work, but worked fine with Disk Utility. It's a great program, but when it does try to mount the image it just sits there with a "Preparing to Extract..." dialog and the only way to get it off the screen is to force quit the finder. I'm not making a review here, but this is a most annoying thing, because you have to quit every running app then force quit the finder to get the finder to display again.
This looks good and a customer who uses it said he likes it a lot.
However, I won't buy from the App Store. If the author wants to sell me a copy, I'm happy to pay for it (30 bucks for this is a VERY good price) because the client really likes it, but he needs to offer another method of buying it.
And I agree with others about the no demo thing...I would NOT even look at this if I hadn't talked to someone who had already used it and recommended it to me. No demo? Get real.
Before you come at me with both barrels...yes I know the price is for a site license. Still not worth it...it's a browser plugin that doesn't work in 64 bit firefox...and MacUpdate needs to prominently note that the cost is for a site license, and you Mr. Dev. need to find out why it doesn't work in 64 bit FF...because like was said already...so you can use 32 bit Firefox...but who would want to? Pretty much all Macs that are less than 10 years old are 64 bit.
