1. does not allow chaning partitions on boot drive
2. does not work with SoftRAID
3. Does not work with AppleRAID (per their documentation), which is odd because AppleRAID is listed in the format types. I don't get that!
4. does not recognize RAID volume names, so cannot be sure which partition is which, when partitions are similar size
5. Loads both main drive AND volumes separately in list clicking on volume states it cannot find a Partition Map for the volume, but allows manipulating the volume without having to go to map of original drive map...DANGEROUS!
@iPoopStore - Oh my word! You would think I was threatening the life of your only born child! Lighten up!
I guess I could have stated that...I do like its graphical presentation, and the level of detail in its identification and information of partitions.
And, I am glad you have had a good experience with this product and with their support. Fact is, it still has come serious shortcomings for a serious partitioning tool, especially where it presents partitions in a way that can be altered that should not be permissible, i.e. point 5.
And no, I have not purchased the product for the very reason of its shortcomings. I used the demo and read in detail its documentation. These are factual researched and educated statements, not "I am so sure..." like you say, without verification.
NOt sure why you would need this. ALl this is avaialable in Preview.
Just have your View Sidebar Thumbnails open then drag each PDF you want to work with to the sidebar. They will show up as "tabs" in the sidebar so you can easily flip between them, search, annotate, etc.
I think you get just as much if not more with Preview (compared to this).
I used this so much in OS 9 and earlier. Was sad when it was not available for OS X for SOOOO LONG!! Had to figure so many other work arounds.
I was thrilled when it finally showed up for OS X!!!! Took me a while to re-integrate myself as I picked up so many poor habits without it. Now I'm so glad I returned to better habits with FinderPop.
A couple of small problems exist.
1. finder label colours do not show up consistently in the menus and sub-menus when clicking on Menu bar. Label colours do not show up at all when clicking on finder items directly.
2. some utils complain about it: Drive Genius 3.x, BTT (BetterTouchTool) used for Magic Mouse and Touch Pad
3. Would be nice if it worked with SecondBar or the like.
I opened/installed Macaroni v2.1.1 a long time ago but immediately removed it when I saw that it offers little insight to what it is doing, unless you are a Unix person.
But I just noticed in my Console the following 3 repeating entries:
08/17/11 4:17:18 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.atomicbird.macaroniTool) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
08/17/11 4:17:28 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.atomicbird.macaroniTool[23327]) posix_spawn("/Library/PreferencePanes/Macaroni.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/MacaroniTool", ...): No such file or directory
08/17/11 4:17:28 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.atomicbird.macaroniTool[23327]) Exited with exit code: 1
The repeat, over and over and over again, every 10 sec (per the log). Anyone know how to get rid of this?
Great app!!! Very simple. Does what it's supposed to do.
I have one small issue. My set-up is dual monitors, side by side, left is main monitor and my Dock is vertical on left side of main monitor.
When I have the cursor over the dock at the edge of the screen, the Dock flickers the magnification, i.e, it grows, shrinks, grows, shrinks. I noticed that the edge of the cursor appears on the right of the second monitor. Also, as it flickers, the cursor drifts up one pixel at a time

I tried this and it rendered my Mac very unstable.
I am a Mac (and Wintel) veteran of over 26 yrs. I know my way around. In my test, I only cleared cache and non-essentials.
The only part I find useful is the version tracking report.
Has lots of useful features but I have no confidence in them as this point.

And for $10? Hard to justify the price, especially when so many others do this and better for less and even FREE.

SecondBar

Going back to 0.968 works best at this time.
Would be nice if it worked with other utils like FinperPop which can trigger by clicking on blank space in menubar.
Would also be nice if Menu Bar items could be supported, selectively, though not as critical.
Rating is for v1.1. Rating for 0.968 would be 2.5

Since this was over a month ago, I had to dig through the system to find stray files. I also had to force quit Macaroni using Activity monitor.
