It is important to stay up to date against the latest threats by having the latest definitions. To make sure MacScan automatically checks for updates simply follow the procedures listed below.

1. Launch MacScan
2. Click the MacScan Menu and select Preferences.
3. Make sure 'Automatically check for updates' is selected.
4. Press Save.

To check for updates manually simply launch MacScan and select the MacScan menu then select check for updates. You must be online while performing this task to download the latest data from the MacScan servers.
